• Last year the Jennies were 18-1 in the MIAA regular season as they captured their 11th regular season conference championship.

Quick Hits
Last Time Out
• The Jennies opened MIAA play on the road with a win at Southwest Baptist. The tight game in Bolivar saw the Jennies prevail 72-66, despite shooting just 29% from three and 54% at the free throw line. Morgan Fleming scored 17 points and Megan Skaggs recorded her first career double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds.

Previously vs. Washburn/Rockhurst
• Central Missouri met both of these teams last year. The Jens went on the road to defeat Washburn 72-63. It was their 14th consecutive win at the time. The Jens shot 53.7% with Paige Redmond's 15 points lead the way. She and Morgan Fleming were each 3-6 from three as Fleming added 13 points. Redmond also had a big day in the Jennies 79-52 win against Rockhurst. UCM shot 51% from the field with Redmond and Kelsey Williams each scoring 16 points.

Jennies in the Rankings
• Central Missouri remained ranked in the top-10 of both national polls this week. The Jennies stayed put at No. 7 in the WBCA rankings but fell one spot to No. 8 this week in the D2SIDA poll after going 1-0 last week with a win in their conference opener at Southwest Baptist 72-66.
• The Jens were also picked first in the MIAA preseason coaches poll, following their 18-1 regular season champonship last season.

The MIAA Universe (As of Dec. 7, 2018)
• Not one, not two, but three Jennies rank in the MIAA top-10 in scoring. Morgan Fleming leads the way with 16.3 which is fourth, Megan Skaggs is fifth at 15.7 and Paige Redmond is sixth at 15.3.
• Redmond is still leading the MIAA in minutes per game at 37.4.
• The Jennies have someone in the MIAA top-five in all three shooting percentage categories. Skaggs is fourth shooting 59.9% from the floor while Redmond is third in three-point percentage at 40% and second at the free throw line making 90.5%.
• Kim Crown sits just outside the top-10 in blocked shots with 1.0 per game.

Individual Milestones

• Paige Redmond joined the 1,000 point club last season scoring the milestone bucket against Pittsburg State. She is currently at 1,328 which is 16th all-time and needs nine to crack the top-15 and 89 away from the top-10. Redmond is also climbing the all-time 3FGM list. She has 163 for her career which is sixth all-time and needs six more to crack the top-five. Her 68 3-pointers last season were tied for the sixth most in a single season.
• Sydney Crockett is also moving up the all-time three-point list and is currently ninth with 109 and 19 away from eighth place. She also needs 17 points for 600, 15 rebounds for 200 and the game at Rockhurst will be the 100th of her career.
• Megan Skaggs needs 11 rebounds to reach 300 and four assists for 100.
• Peyton Taylor's next FGM made will be the 50th of her career.
• Morgan Fleming is closing in on 700 points needing 24 more.

10 Below
• For the last three seasons the Jennies have made a habit of holding teams to fewer than 10 points in at least one quarter. It's happened in 39 games dating back to the 2016-17 season and in those games, UCM is 37-2. The Jens were 15-1 when doing so in 2016-17 and 18-1 last year including four of the six NCAA postseason games. The Jens are at it again this year. In four of their six games, they've held their opponent to single-digits in one quarter of play.

Start Your Engines
• Overall through six games, the Jennies have shown an ability to start strong, outscoring opponents 112-95 in the first quarter and then really putting the hammer down in the second, 116-78. The Jennies have scored more points in the second half than the first, 260-228, but are giving up far more as well, 257-173.

Who's Hot?
• Megan Skaggs has been on fire from three, shooting 8-14 in the last three games. She leads UCM hitting 55.9% from the floor this season and is up to 44% from three. Skaggs also picked up her first career double-double last Thursday at Southwest Baptist with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
• Morgan VanHyfte was all over the floor at SBU and filled out the box score with nine points, five rebounds, three blocks, two steals and one assist. She was 3-5 shooting and knocked in a three.

Scouting the Opposition
Washburn Ichabods (3-4, 1-0 MIAA)

• After dropping two straight at home, Washburn got back on track Thursday night with a win in their MIAA opener defeating Southwest Baptist 73-50.
• The Ichabods enjoyed a fine shooting night Thursday, hitting 47.6% of their field goals including 38.1% from three.
• That hasn't always been the case for the Ichabods who are last in the MIAA in three-point percentage at 25.5% and next to last from the field at 39.3%. They're also last at the FT line shooting just 58.8%.
• Reagan Phelan is the Ichabods leading scorer with 11.1 points per game. She's taken 30 three-point attempts this season to lead WU, but has only made six (20%).
• Shelbe Piggie is also in double figures with 10.4 ppg. She's hit 10-29 threes to lead the 'Bods.
• Hunter Bentley is the team's leading rebounder for a Washburn team that pulls down 41.1 per game, fifth in the MIAA. She averages six per game.
• Washburn averages three blocked shots per game led by Mackenzie Loe's eight.
• The Ichabods have a +2.57 turnover margin, eighth in the MIAA.

Rockhurst Hawks (4-2, 1-1 GLVC)

• They'll be coming off a long layoff with their last game played more than one week ago, a win at Quincy, 74-67.
• A noteable opponent for Rockhurst is Washburn, who the Hawks lost to 69-49 in November.
• The Hawks are off to a tremendous start shooting the ball. They're hitting on 43.3% of their field goals including a 40.4% from three.
• Madeline Ronshausen leads two Hawks in double-figures with 16.7 points per game. Lauren Krissman is the other scoring 13.2 points per game and has made 10-of-17 from three.
• Rebounding has been an issue for the Hawks who are down in the rebounding department 39.0-32.7. Rachel Holden is their leading rebounder with 4.7 boards per game. A big issue is offensive rebounds where the Hawks give up 13.6 offensive rebounds per game.
