WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Sept. 23, 2017) - No. 15 Central Missouri Volleyball won their fifth straight match Saturday afternoon defeating Missouri Western 3-1 (22-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-18). The five-match winning streak is UCM's longest of the season and puts them at 11-3 overall and 2-0 in the MIAA.
How it Happened
• Central Missouri fell behind early with the Griffons taking a set one win, but came back to win the following three sets and take the match 3-1.
• The Jennies hit .244 for the match and landed 63 total kills.
• Both teams had issues with service errors: UCM committed four and the Griffons six.
• Each match was back and forth with multiple ties and lead changes. There were 28 total ties in four sets and 14 lead changes.
• In the first set, no team held more than a two-point at any point until the Griffons got a kill to make it 21-18. UCM got to within one at 23-22, but MWSU scored the final two points on UCM errors. The Jens hit only .191 for the set.
• The Jens hit even worst in set two, .125 but were able to come away with a win. Both teams landed just 11 kills and the Griffons his .061. The Jennies went up by seven midway through the set, 15-8 and never wavered on their way to tying the match at one-apiece.
• The offense picked up for UCM as the day went on. The Jennies hit .333 in set three and .293 in set four with 36 combined kills. After UCM took a 7-6 lead courtesy of a MWSU attack error, they never trailed again. They went ahead 15-10 and were able to hang on for a 25-21 win.
• Set four went back and forth and was tied as late as 17-17.
Kasey Hohlen gave UCM an 18-17 lead and the Jennies scored eight of the final nine points.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Three Jennies had more than 10 kills led by Hohlen's career-high 18.
Audrey Fisher knocked 16 and
Hannah VanBuskirk added 13. Hohlen hit .500 for the game with 18 kills on 30 attempts with just three errors.

Ally Offerdahl recorded a double-double with a game-high 48 assists and 10 digs.
• Offerdahl was one of three Jens with 10+ digs.
Kylie Hohlen had 20 and
Katie Carlson helped out with 15.
• UCM had only four blocks on the afternoon, and two each from Fisher and
Molly Lawrence.Â
For the Griffons
• Stephanie Doak led the way with 15 kills. Ali Tauchen also had 13 and completed a double-double with 16 digs.
• Lauren Murphy passed out 45 assists for MWSU.
• Kayla Ruff had a game-high 21 digs.
• Tauchen and Rachel Losch each had four blocks.

• The Jennies have started out 2-0 in MIAA and their five match winning streak is a season-best.

Carly Offerdahl recorded her 500th career dig in the game.

The Jennies hit the road again for a four-match roadtrip. They have three next week starting with Lindenwood Tuesday, Sept. 26 at 6 p.m. before going to Washburn and Emporia State next weekend.Â
