RUSSELLVILLE, Ark. (Sept. 16, 2017) - Fifteenth-ranked Jennies Volleyball fell in their first match of the Arkansas Tech Spikefest Tournament to the host Golden Suns, 3-2 (15-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-22, 10-15) Thursday night. The loss puts them at 6-3 overall on the season.
How It Happened
• Set one was all Arkansas Tech as they led from the opening point. The Jennies landed just four kills to go along with seven attack errors for a -.097 attack percentage and ATU went up with a 25-15 win.
• UCM went ahead late in the second set as they were able to tie the match at one-apiece.
Ally Offerdahl and
Hannah VanBuskirk each had three kills in the 25-18 win.
• Central Missouri came all the way back from five down to tie the match at 19 on a
Kylie Hohlen service ace. But Arkansas Tech scored six of the final eight points and went back ahead with a 25-21 win.
• Set four saw the Jennies complete the comeback after trailing by as much as four, 13-9 in the early going. The wild set saw six ties and four lead changes before UCM pulled out a 25-22 set win to force a fifth set. Tied at 22, UCM won the set on a
Kasey Hohlen kill and two Golden Sun attack errors. Aubree Bell had four kills in the frame.
• All the energy used to force a fifth set left UCM drained and the Golden Suns took a big lead, 11-4, early. UCM rallied for three straight facing set-point, but it wasn't enough and ATU took the match with a 15-10 win in the fifth set. The Golden Suns hit .500 for the frame, committing just one attack error.
Jennies Stats Leaders
• Bell was the only Jennie in double-figure kills finishing with 10.
Kasey Hohlen and Aubrey Fisher each landed nine and
Ally Offerdahl eight.
• Offerdahl also led the Jennies with 36 assists.

Kylie Hohlen racked up 18 digs while
Katie Carlson added 11. The two also finished with two service aces each.
• The Jens hit just .144 as a team while committing 24 attack errors and eight service errors along with three ball-handling and two blocking errors.
• Offerdahl landed her eight kills on just 13 attempts for a .615 attack percentage.
For the Golden Suns
• Five landed in double-figure kills led by Hunter Eshnaur's and Lexie Johnson's 14.
• Amanda Milnick picked up 44 assists.
• Arkansas Tech collected 80 digs led by Madison Nagel's 22. Three others had at least 10 digs.
• Arkansas Tech outhit UCM with a .234 attack percentage and picked up four more blocks, 9-5.
News and Notes
• This is Coach Piontek's first loss to a school from the Great American Conference. He had previously been 10-0. The Jennies were also 6-0 all-time against Arkansas Tech heading into the match.
• The Golden Suns start the season now at 11-0.

Katie Carlson needs just 13 more digs to reach 500 for her career.
• With one more kill,
Kylie Hohlen will reach 500 career kills. She is also 10 digs shy of 1,000.

The Jens have three more matches over the next two days in Russellville. They'll get the chance to wash the taste of defeat out of their mouths tomorrow morning when they take on Alabama-Huntsville at 11 a.m. They also play Harding tomorrow afternoon, scheduled for 5 p.m.
