WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Oct. 7, 2017) - Central Missouri Volleyball won its third straight match Saturday afternoon over Missouri Southern 3-0 (25-23, 25-18, 25-17). The win keeps the Jennies undefeated at home this season at 3-0 and moves them to 15-4 and 6-1 in the MIAA.
How it Happened
• The Jennies landed 53 total kills compared to just 31 for the Lions. They also out-hit MSSU .270-.179.
• UCM did work on the defensive end picking up 62 digs in three sets, averaging nearly 21 digs per set.
• The Jens also landed five service aces in the match.
• The first set was the closest of the match. It saw three ties and two lead changes. Missouri Southern got out to a fast start and took a 7-3 lead. The Jennies made up the difference quick though and a five-point run gave UCM the lead, 16-13. Kills from
Aubree Bell and
Kasey Hohlen tied and gave the Jens the lead. From there UCM never trailed again. The Lions did make it interesting at the finish, getting to within one, 24-23, but Bell's fourth kill of the set sealed the win.
• Set two saw the Jennies take a 7-3 lead and never gave it up. A kill from
Rylee Neigenfind gave the Jennies their largest lead, 20-12, and they were able to cruise to a 25-18 set two win.
• A 16-6 run in the middle of the third set saw the Jennies run away with the win, 25-17. Bell had six kills in the set and
Ally Offerdahl had 17 assists. UCM landed 21 kills in the set, their most in the match and hit .486.
Jennies Stat Leaders
• Bell finished with a game-high 15 kills on 31 attempts and had an attack percentage of .452.
Hannah VanBuskirk was the only other Jen in double-figure kills with 11.
• Offerdahl passed out 42 assists, averaging 14 per set. She also had five kills, four digs and a block assist.

Kylie Hohlen and
Katie Carlson did the work on defense. Hohlen had a game-high 20 digs and Carlson was right behind with a season-high 19. Hohlen also had three service aces.
• Neigenfind landed knocked five kills on just seven attempts in two sets of action.

Kasey Hohlen chipped in nine kills.
•
Carly Offerdahl had a service ace and eight digs.
For the Lions
• Alicia Pickett collected a team-best 12 kills.
• Morgan Nash finished a dig shy of a double-double with 24 assists and nine digs and a service ace.
• Janelle Brehm had a team-high 11 digs and Whitney Harrison added 10.
• The Lions finished with eight total blocks. Pickett had five and Brehm added three.

The Jennies are back on the road next Thursday and Friday. First they take on Fort Hays State on the 12th followed by Nebraska-Kearney on Friday the 13th. Fort Hays lost to Northwest Missouri this afternoon and are 9-12 this season and 1-6 in the MIAA.
