WARRENSBURG, Mo. (Oct. 17, 2017) - Central Missouri got right back to their winning ways with a 3-0 sweep (25-22, 25-16, 25-17) of William Jewell Tuesday night in Warrensburg. The win puts Central Missouri at 17-5 for the season and they are 10-3 in nonconference action.
How it Happened
• The Jennies hit .252 as a team and landed 49 kills to the Cardinals 33.
• Defensively, UCM had seven blocks and 66 digs.
• Central Missouri appeared to be in control early in set one, taking a 14-9 lead after a kill from
Aubree Bell. A solo bock from
Hannah VanBuskirk pushed that lead to 17-11 and forced a WJC timeout. That's when the Cardinals started to come back and got to within one point, 22-21 thanks to a 10-5 run. But kills from
Ally Offerdahl and
Kasey Hohlen and a Cardinal attack error ensured the Jennies would take set one after a wild finish, 25-22.
• Set two was all UCM from the start as they scored the first seven points of the set. UCM never trailed and the frame was never in doubt in the 25-16 win.
Kasey Hohlen had six kills in the set and
Ally Offerdahl had 14 assists.Â
• Central Missouri hit .375 as a team in set three and never trailed for the second straight set. They raced out to another big lead, 7-2 and again cruised to an easy set win, 25-17.Â
