Quick Hits
Last Time Out
The Jennies were on fire for three quarters at Washburn and held on for an 86-75 win over the Ichabods. UCM shot a season-best 68.4% (13-19) from three and were also 53.6% (30-56) from the floor. Shelby Winkelmann led five Jennies in double-figures with 19 points. Paige Redmond scored a career-high 16 points as did Ashley Jones. Tayler Weiks was 4-for-5 from three and scored 13 while Danielle Randle hit 3-of-4 from deep and scored 11.

Jennies on the Road
Despite winning Wednesday at Washburn, playing away from Warrensburg has not come easily for the Jennies. UCM is 3-7 on the road this season and 3-5 in MIAA road games. The Jennies have however defeated Washburn and Pittsburg State on the road for the first time in the same season since 2000.

Conference Leaders
A couple of Jennies are trending towards the top of the rankings in the MIAA. Senior Shelby Winkelmann is second in the MIAA scoring with 19.3 points per game and sixth in shooting percentage at 47.6% (139-292). She is also sixth with 1.8 steals and eighth with 3.6 assists per game in the MIAA.

Earlier this season, Winkelmann cracked 1,000 career points. She is currently 17th all-time with 1,245. Next up for Winkelmann to catch is Shara Sherman who played from 1983-86 and scored 1,264 career points.

Senior Ashley Jones is at the top of the conference in a pair of categories. With 8.7 rebounds per game, she sits third in the MIAA and is 76th in NCAA Division II. She is also second in the conference with 3.3 offensive rebounds per game and her 66 offensive rebounds is third. Her 57.8% shooting percentage currently leads the MIAA. She's gone 107-185 from the field this season. At 57.8%, Jones ranks 19th in shooting percentage in all of Division II.

Heating Up
Once conference games rolled around the Jennies have found their shooting touch. Through the first five games of the season, UCM was 40.5% from the floor, 28.4% from three and 69.2% from the free throw line. During conference games the Jennies are shooting 42.5%/34.4%/74.0%. Ashley Jones and Paige Redmond are big reasons for the jump, as both are shooting more than 20 percentage points higher in conference games than their overall numbers. Jones is connecting on 60.8% in MIAA games and Redmond 42.6%.

Predicting a Winner
This season there has been nearly one sure-fire way to determine if the Jennies won or lost and that comes down to rebounding. When the Jennies are on the plus side of the rebounding battle, UCM is 7-1. When they are outrebounded, they have lost 11 of 12. Those numbers remained true last weekend as the Lopers outrebounded UCM 34 to 29. The Jennies and Ichabods tied in rebounding with 27. UCM also was dead even with Emporia State with 35 boards.

Magic Number
The number 70 has been a good prognostication of a Jennies win or loss this season. UCM is 7-2 this season when scoring 70 points. However they are also 3-8 when allowing opponents to reach 70 points. The Jennies dropped 86 points Wednesday against Washburn, their second highest total of the season, in their win, surpassing the Ichabods 75.

Bucking the Trend
Typically a low opponent shooting percentage should produce positive results. However that has not been the case for the Jennies this season. When opponents shoot lower than 40% from the field, the Jennies are just 3-5 in those games. The Jens are also 2-2 when their opponent shoots 50% or better. For the season, UCM is allowing opponents to shoot 42.8% from the floor.

20-20 Vision
With their 21 wins in 2014-15, UCM has now won at least 20 games in four straight seasons. It is their longest such stretch since the Jens went 11 straight years with at least 20 wins from 1981-82 - 1991-92.
