Quick Hits
Last Time Out
UCM went 1-1 last week with a 59-50 loss to No. 1 Fort Hays State and a 64-62 win over Nebraska-Kearney. Four Jennies (Jones, Duffy, Winkelmann, Randle) all scored exactly 10 points and UCM held the Tigers to just 31.5% from the field but the Tigers defense helped keep the Jennies to 50 points or less for the first time since 2012.

Saturday the Jennies got down early against Nebraska-Kearney, but a big second half helped them escape with a come-from-behind victory. The Jens trailed by as many as 14 early in the third quarter, before outscoring the Lopers by 16 in the final 13:23 of the game. Winkelmann led all scorers with a season-high 27 points, Duffy added another 10 and Jones chipped in with eight points and nine rebounds in the 64-62 win.

Halftime Adjustments
Central Missouri's top scoring period this season has been the third. Coming out of halftime, UCM has scored 184 points in third periods and are outscoring their opponents by 32, allowing 152 in third periods, their fewest of any period. That trend continued last weekend as once again the third period was the Jennies highest scoring period. Their second half adjustments also apply to defense, especially against Nebraska-Kearney where they only allowed 21 second half points and just four in the final period.

Conference Leaders
A handful of Jennies are trending towards the top of the rankings in the MIAA. Senior Ashley Jones is near the top of the conference in rebounding. With 8.6 per game, she sits sixth in the MIAA. She also leads the conference with 4.0 offensive rebounds per game and her 36 offensive boards is third.

Fellow senior Tayler Weiks is also in the MIAA top-10 for her three point shooting prowess. Weiks is fifth in the MIAA in both three-point shooting percentage (.368, 21-57) and made three pointers per game (2.1).

Senior Shelby Winkelmann has finally reached the statistical requirements to be included among the conference leaders. She is third in the MIAA in scoring with 19 points per game and her 48.1 (50-104) shooting percentage ranks fifth. She's also sixth in the MIAA connecting on 84.4% of her free throw attempts (27-32).

Perfect 10
Junior Ashley Duffy has scored exactly 10 points in three straight games. She has reached double-digits in four games,  but can't get over the 10 point hump, scoring 10 points all four times. Duffy also fills out the stat sheet in other ways. She leads the team with 20 assists and 18 steals and is second on the team with 33 rebounds.

Ranked Opponents
The Jennies have faced their share of ranked opponents early this season. UCM has already faced four top-25 teams and three top-10 teams in the WBCA. One other, Quincy, was receiving votes at the time they met. UCM won't face another ranked opponent until their rematch with Emporia State January 30. They will travel to Pittsburg State as a part of their first road trip of the 2016 calendar year who is receiving votes in the latest poll.

Quick Hands
The Jennies 86 steals this season have them ranked fifth in the MIAA. They've taken the ball away seven more times than opponents. Ashley Duffy has been the leader of the thievery with 18 steals and at least two in seven of 10 games and in only five games, Shelby Winkelmann has 13 takeaways.

Free Throw Frenzy
Central Missouri's free throw shooting has been getting better as the year has gone on. After starting out shooting just 59% (16-27), UCM has increased that to 72% for the season. The Jens have shot at least 71% in six of their last seven games and are connecting on 76% (82-108) during that stretch. Three Jennies this season are shooting at least 80% from the charity stripe, Shelby Winkelmann (.844), Sydney Crockett (.833) and Danielle Barry (.800).

20-20 Vision
With their 21 wins in 2014-15, UCM has now won at least 20 games in four straight seasons. It is their longest such stretch since the Jens went 11 straight years with at least 20 wins from 1981-82 - 1991-92.
