Next up for the Jennies   The Jennies (13-8, 7-6 MIAA) look to avenge a 71-65 loss to Missouri Southern last Saturday, January 31 when they host the Lions this Saturday at 1:30 p.m. UCM came away from its game at Southwest Baptist victorious in a 79-67 fashion to snap a two-game losing skid.
   Missouri Southern comes into Saturday's conference showdown having won its last two games and is currently sitting in fourth place in the MIAA standings
   The Jennies currently find themselves in a two-way tie for fifth place with Central Oklahoma, both teams holding a 7-6 mark in conference action. Central Missouri has won six of the past seven meetings with the Lions, inlcuding four straight in Warrensburg.

Revonnia Howard and
Justina Prairie Chief both tallied double-doubles as the Jennies earned a 79-67 win over host Southwest Baptist on Thursday night.
   UCM (13-8, 7-6 MIAA) exploded for 51 points in the second half, a season-high. The largest lead for either team in the opening 20 minutes was four points (Jennies 11-7) in an action-filled first half that saw three lead changes.
   Howard scored five quick points in the first three-plus minutes for UCM to spot the Jennies with a 5-3 lead in the early going. Redshirt sophomore
Danielle Barry scored the next four points on layups, giving the Jens a 9-5 lead.
   SBU came back to tie the game at 14-14 over the next 3:01, but the Jennies battled to re-claim a 26-23 lead with 2:33 to go in the first half.
   After both teams exchanged a pair of made free throws, SBU's Dilonna Johnson drained a three-pointer with two seconds left on the clock to put the game at a 28-28 deadlock going into halftime.
   The Jennies shot 30% (10-of-30) from the floor and splashed two treys in four attempts (40%) in the opening half.

Jasmine Thompson got the offense rolling to begin the second half, spotting up for a three-pointer just 21 seconds in.
   The two foes traded baskets over the next three possessions, but junior
Shelby Winkelmann and Howard combined for three made free throws to put their team ahead, 36-33 with 17:46 to play in the game.
   Howard gave the Jennies their largest lead at five points with a layup at the 17:06 mark, but the Bearcats came back with a bucket from Leann Terrill, closing the gap to 38-35.
   Up 40-35 with just over 15 ½ minutes to play, the Jennies defense came up with a defensive stop and increased their lead to 43-35 after Winkelmann splashed a three from the lower left corner.
   Up by as many as 10 points with 10:54 to play, the Bearcats went on a 10-2 run to close to within two points at 53-51 with just under nine minutes on the clock. SBU took a 54-53 lead following a three-pointer by Dilonna Johnson, but Thompson put UCM ahead, 56-54 with a three of her own with 7:55 to play.
   Thompson's three ignited a 10-0 run for the Jennies offense. Central Missouri's lead reached six thanks to back-to-back layups by Prairie Chief. Howard drew a foul with 5:11 to play and hit a pair of free throws to make it a 62-54 game.
   SBU cut the Jennies' lead to six with 3:50 to go, but Prairie Chief hit a turnaround layup with just over three minutes left to put the Jennies up eight.
   Up by six points with 1:40 to play, Howard executed a three-point play to bump the lead back to nine.
   The lead never dipped below nine for the remainder of the game as UCM snapped a two-game losing skid and picked up their third straight win against the Bearcats.
Slifer By The Numbers    Slifer is 32nd on the all-time wins list for all NCAA coaches with 592.
   Slifer is sixth among all Division II coaches with 592 wins and is ninth among all Division II coaches with a .739 winning percentage.
   Slifer needs eight wins to reach 600 in his 25-year coaching career. Â
A Pair of Jennies With Double-Doubles   In UCM's win at Southwest Baptist, two Jennies, seniors
Revonnia Howard and
Justina Prairie Chief, earned double-double performances. Howard scored 22 points and grabbed 15 rebounds, while Prairie Chief scored 16 points and hauled in 10 boards.
   It was the first time the Jennies had two players record double-doubles in the same game since March 15, 2014 against Concordia St. Paul in the Central Regional semifinals. In that game,
Keuna Flax had 18 points and 11 rebounds, while
Revonnia Howard scored 11 points and pulled down 14 boards.
Second Half Offensive Explosion   After battling the Bearcats to a 28-28 tie at halftime on Thursday night, the Jennies came out of the locker room and scored 51 points to run away with a 12-point win. The 51 points were the most for the Jennies in a half this season.
   The Jennies last scored at least 50 points in a half on February 15, 2014 at Lindenwood when they scored 51 in the first half.
Double-Digit Boards   The Jennies have had one player haul in at least 10 rebounds in five straight games. It is the longest streak for the team this season. Central Missouri had a seven-game streak of double-digit rebounds for one player from Feb. 16, 2013-March 15, 2013.
Rebound Machine   Senior forward
Revonnia Howard has been an asset on the boards this season for the Jennies. Her 9.1 rebounds per game is currently third in the MIAA entering this week. Seventy of her 192 rebounds have been on the offensive end, both team highs. Her 70 offensive rebounds are currently fourth-best in the MIAA (3.3 per game average).
   She is one of three Jennies (
Justina Prairie Chief,
Jasmine Thompson) to pull down 100 rebounds this season. She is the only Jennie to have 100 defensive rebounds this season as well.
   Howard pulled down a career-high 21 rebounds in the 73-65 overtime win against Quincy on Nov. 24. Howard's 21 rebounds in a single-game are tied for fourth-most in UCM history.
   The Chicago, Illinois native was the first Jennie to record at least 20 rebounds since Jojuana Jones hauled in 21 boards on March 6, 2008 in the first round of the MIAA Tournament against SBU (89-80 loss).
Block Party   Howard has blocked 35 shots this season, bumping her career total to 78. The 78 blocks have moved her into eighth place on the Jennies' all-time list, passing Gina Blanks and Lashonda Albert.
Getting To The Free Throw Line   The Jennies attempted a season-high 43 free throws against Southwest Baptist, surpassing their previous high of 30 against Quincy. The Jennies converted on 28 of those free throws attempts, a 65.1% conversion percentage.
Winning On The Glass   In the win over Southwest Baptist, the Jennies pulled down a season-high 50 rebounds. They also recorded 20 offensive boards coming up one offensive rebound short of matching their season best.

Barry Off The Bench   Redshirt sophomore
Danielle Barry has scored 15 points off the bench in the last two games, logging 31 minutes. She is shooting 40% from the floor and averaging 6.0 rebounds over that span as well.
Excelling In The Classroom   The Jennies experienced plenty of success both on and off the court last season with eight MIAA Academic Honor Roll selections, for earning at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
UCM in the Polls   The Jennies were ranked in the Top 25 for 33 consecutive weeks from January of 2013-December of 2014. This season, the Jennies faced four opponents (Emporia State, Fort Hays State, Pittsburg State and Drury) that currently sit in the Top 25, finishing with a record of 1-3.
UCM Program History   The UCM Jennies are 888-368 (.707) after 44 seasons, and 685-279 (.710) in the 32 seasons since joining NCAA Division II ... the Jennies have won 10 MIAA regular season championships with last year's title, 7 MIAA Tournament titles, 6 NCAA regional titles, and the 1984 NCAA Division II Championship.
Series History With Missouri Southern   The Jennies lead the all-time series with the Lions. 35-21 UCM had their six-game win streak against Missouri Southern snapped on January 31. The Jennies are 19-6 all time against the Lions in Warrensburg.
