WARRENSBURG, Mo. - Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (1-3) conclude the non-conference portion of their schedule with a trip to Quincy, Ill. to take on the Hawks, Saturday, Nov. 28. Quincy has started out the year 4-0, with two of those wins coming against MIAA schools. Tip-off for the Saturday matinee is scheduled for 1 p.m.
Tip Off• 2015 marks the 46th year of UCM Jennies Basketball.
• UCM was picked to finish third in the MIAA pre-season coaches poll.
• The Jennies fell earlier this week to No. 8 Drury, 86-71 in Springfield, Mo.

Story Lines• This will be the Jennies final nonconference game of the season. To this point, UCM is 1-3 in nonconference battles and finished 6-3 a season ago.
• Last year, the Jennies defeated Quincy 73-65 in overtime. UCM trailed by 17 at halftime, before coming back to win. Justina Prairie-Chief scored 20 points and Revonnia Howerd secured a double-double with 17 points and 21 rebounds.
• The Jennies are 9-2 all-time against Drury after last season's loss. Head Coach 
Dave Slifer is 3-1 in his UCM career against the Hawks.
• Central Missouri brings back only five letter-winners from last year and one returning starter in senior 
Shelby Winkelmann.

Dave Slifer won his 600th career game in the MIAA quarterfinal win over Missouri Southern. He is 601-212 lifetime as a coach and 217-113 at UCM.
• The Jennies went 21-9 last season and played in the MIAA semifinal game.
Quick HitsLast Time OutThe Jennies fell to No. 8 Drury 86-71 in Springfield, Mo. UCM had a 12 point lead in the first period and were up nine, 20-11 after one. The Panthers hot shooting brought them back into the game as they hit 56% from the floor and 55% from three.

Milestone WatchWith 47 points scored through two games, senior 
Shelby Winkelmann is just 74 points away from reaching 1,000 for her career. She scored a career-high 404 points in 2014-15.
Three-Point SpecialistIn her first season with the Jennies, then-junior 
Tayler Weiks proved to be a sniper off of the bench. In only 17.2 minutes per game, Weiks hit a team-high 49 three point shots and connected on 39% of her attempts. Her three-point percentage ranked her fifth in the MIAA and her 1.6 made three ranked ninth in the conference.
Weiks has started all four games so far in 2015 and is again finding a home behind the arc. She has hit a team-best nine three pointers and is sixth in the MIAA with 2.3 treys per game.
Twice as NiceFor the last two seasons the Jennies have had 
Revonnia Howard patrolling around the basket. This year they turn to 
Ashley Jones to fill the roll. Jones is third in the MIAA through four games with 10.5 rebounds per game. She notched two straight double-double against Minnesota-St. Moorhead and William Jewell. She set career-highs versus the Cardinals with a 17 point, 16 rebound performance.
Starting StrongThrough four games with the new 10 minute period system, the Jennies are out-scoring their opponents in the first period. After one period of play, the Jennies hold a total 77-67 advantage over their opponents.
Iron WomanSenior 
Shelby Winkelmann is a rare two-sport athlete for Central Missouri. Over her career at UCM, Winkelmann has played in 68 basketball games and 65 volleyball matches. In 2014, Winkelmann averaged 34 minutes on the basketball court while playing in all 109 sets of Jennies Volleyball and was named All-MIAA in both sports.
Late and CloseUCM always plays an exciting brand of basketball, and often you can expect to see games going down to the wire. Last season, the Jennies were 6-5 in games decided by five points or less and 4-5 when tied or trailing with 5:00 left to play. Through three games UCM is 0-1 in both of those categories and 1-1 when leading at halftime. Last year, Central Missouri was 17-3 when taking a lead into halftime.
Ranked OpponentsWith their loss to No. 8 Drury, Central Missouri is now 2-3 in their last five meetings with teams ranked in the WBCA top-25. Three of those games came back-to-back-to-back last season, in which UCM went 2-1 defeating No. 8 Washburn and No. 1 ranked Emporia State.
Brand New FacesThe Jennies are bringing back only five letterwinners from last years team. By comparison, UCM brought back eight student-athletes last year from the 2013-14 team. The last time the Jennies had this few returning letterwinners was the 2007-08 season which saw only four letterwinners return from the 2006-07 season. Central Missouri welcomes 11 new student-athletes into the mix for 2015-16.

Ashley Jones have come off the bench to play significant minutes.
20-20 VisionWith their 21 wins in 2014-15, UCM has now won at least 20 games in four straight seasons. It is their longest such stretch since the Jens went 11 straight years with at least 20 wins from 1981-82 - 1991-92.

• Quincy has begun the season with four straight wins, picking up a pair over MIAA schools and two more over schools from the GLIAC. The Hawks defeated Northwest Missouri and Lindenwood in their last two games.
• The Hawks went 16-12 last year, losing in the GLVC Quarterfinals to Wisconsin-Parkside.
• Through four games, the Hawks have the second-best three-point shooting percentage in the nation. They're connecting at over 50% at 508 (30-of-59). Led by Kara Gerbus shooting 8-of-13 (.615) and Nikia Edom hitting 9-of-15 (.600). Quincy is also shooting 48% from the floor and 79% from the free throw line.
• Gerbus is the Hawks leading scorer this season, averaging 13.5 points per game. She is one of four Hawks in double-figures. Maggie Cunningham is second with 11.8 ppg, Anika Webster is scoring 11 ppg and Edom is right there with 10.3 ppg. Gerbus has been hot from all over the floor hitting 58% of her shots attempts, and 61% of her threes.
• Webster has been the Hawks go-to rebounder. She's grabbing 6.3 boards per game including 2.8 on the offensive end. Cunningham is also over five caroms per game at 5.3.
• Cunningham is third in the GLVC and 17th in the country with 6.3 assists per game. She handed out each in each of her first two games of the season and five in each of the last two.
• Quincy has blocked more than twice as many shots as opponents this year. The Hawks are averaging 2.8 blocks per game and have swatted 11 in four games compared to just five total for opponents. Gerbus has led the block party with four blocks while Erin Mennemeyer has added three.
