Jennies ResultsMINNEAPOLIS, MN. - Both the Mules and Jennies had strong performances at the annual Roy Griak Invitational, hosted by the University of Minnesota. The Mules placed three runners inside the top-50 as they captured fourth place, while
Megan Glamann led the Jennies, finishing 15th.
UCM finished in the top-five for the second consecutive year and the top-10 for the fourth straight. The Mules scored 206 points to finish fourth. Wisconsin-Parkside was the Division II winner, scoring 90 points. Southwest Baptist was the only other MIAA competitor, they finished 14th as a team.
Freshman
Ian Frazier was the top finisher for the Mules, completing the 8K course in 26:57 to place 28th in the field of 409 runners. Sophomore
Spencer Hudson (27:02) and senior
Adam Tredway (27:05) followed closely behind in 31st and 32nd place. Junior
Michael Gawlick and freshman
Brian Green both finished just-outside the top-50 in 57th and 58th place respectively. Gawlick crossed the line in 27:43 while Green was a stride behind in 27:44.
On the women's side, senior
Megan Glamann again paced the Jennies, cracking the top-15 by finishing 15th out of 325 runners in 23:02 for 6K. Fellow senior
Allie Rexroat was the second finisher for the Jens in 44th place, finishing in 23:56. Freshmen
Yesenia Gomez (25:48),
Nicole Svendsen (26:31) and senior
Samantha Merritt (26:14) rounded out the scoring for UCM.
The Jennies finished 18th overall out of 34 teams with 494 points. Minnesota-Deluth took home the team title, scoring 74 points.
Both squads will take off from racing until October 11 at the Southwest Baptist Invitational in Bolivar, Mo.
