Megan Glamann was the top finisher on the women's side while the team finished third overall.
The Mules placed first through third in the college scores, with Tredway (20:27.92) closely followed by freshman
Ian Frazier (20:30.83) and junior
Michael Gawlick (20:40.55) in the four mile race.
Spencer Hudson (21:04.58) and
Austin Gott (21:13.86) rounded out the scoring for the Mules. All five Mule scorers finished in the top-10. Hudson captured sixth place while Gott placed eighth.
The 20 points for the Mules was 19 better than Southwest Baptist, who claimed second place with 39 points. The Mules and Bearcats were the only MIAA programs in the 12-team field.
Former UCM cross country student-athlete
Tyler Stuber was the overall winner, crossing the line in 20:14.43.
Glamann was the top collegiate finisher for the second consecutive year. Her time of 14:37.64 over the 2.5 mile course was nearly seven seconds better than her winning time from a year ago.
Allie Rexroat was the only other Jennie to place in the top-10, taking fifth place in 14:57.16.
Completing the scoring for the Jens was junior
Coleen Grone and a pair of freshmen,
Nicole Svendsen and
Yesenia Gomez. Grone was fourth for UCM in 21st place, crossing the line in 16:03.27. Svendsen and Gomez placed 19th and 24th respectively, in 15:59.88 and 16:08.44.
UCM finished in third place out of 15 teams with 70 points behind Southwest Baptist (28) and Benedictine (49).
Kristen Swisher of the Mule Track Club was the top overall finisher in 14:12.60.
The race took place at the Keith Memorial Golf Course at Pertle Springs. The women's race was 2.5 miles with 141 competitors. The men completed four miles with 113 competitors.
Both teams will return to action Sept. 27 at the Roy Griak Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn., hosted by the University of Minnesota.
