WARRENSBURG, Mo. -- The Mules and Jennies hosted the Mule Relays at Walton Stadium on Friday afternoon. Aside from several provisional marks, Chris Swearingin set a new school record in the javelin. He won the event with a provisional mark at 211' 10'', and broke the previous record that he set last year by a foot and a half. Heavin Warner shattered the school record in the hammer throw, earning her the top throw in the nation so far this year.
George Charalambous won the high jump, with a provisional mark at 6' 8.25''. Devin Claypool came in second at 6' 6.25''. Andre Wooten was third in triple jump at 46' 6.25''. Cole Phillips was first in the pole vault, and had a provisional mark at 16' 8.75''. Hassan Ilyas won the long jump at 22' 9.25''.
Kellin Loch won the 800m run in 1:52.00, and Ross Lorber was third at 1:52.09. Marquis Jones was third in the 100m dash at 10.91. Cameron Bogue was third in the 10,000m run at 32:48.49.
On the Jennies side, Nikki Douglas was first in the 100m and 400m hurdles. She had a provisional mark in the 400m at 1:01.98, and finished the 100m in 14.77.
Heavin Warner had an AQ mark in the hammer throw and a provisional in the shot put. She was first in the hammer throw at 210' 2'', and second in the shot put at 46' 8.25''. Her mark in the hammer throw was a PR and new school record, shattering the old mark of 184' 3" and was the third best throw in Division II history. Her shot put throw was also a new PR and is the second best throw in school history. She also placed second in the discus with a provisional mark of 153' 10". She finished second behind teammate Brooke Swearingin, who threw a provisional qualifying mark of 162' 9".
The Jennies 4x100 relay took first at 48.43. The team consisted of Douglas, Jessica Fennewald, Kailey Fuchs, and Madison Smith.
Megan Glamann competed at the Kansas Relays Thursday. She was third in the 10,000m run with a provisional time of 36:32.87. Mary Riley was second in the javelin on Saturday at the Kansas Relays. She threw a provisional mark of 151' 8" to finish second in a field consisting mostly of Division I athletes.
The team will travel to Des Moines, Iowa for the Drake Relays next weekend.
