Women's 6K ResultsWAYNE, Neb. - Senior
Megan Glamann was named All-Region for the second consecutive season after capturing 20th place at the NCAA Division II Central Region Championships. Glamann crossed the line in 22:31.3. Both the Mules and Jennies wrapped up their season in Wayne, Neb. at the regional meet. Glamann paced the Jennies to a 14th place finish out of 29 teams while the men cracked the top-10, finishing ninth among 22 squads.
Junior
Michael Gawlick led the Mules, finishing in 30th place out of 148 racers with a personal-best time 32:41.7. Senior
Adam Tredway was just a few second behind Gawlick, placing 35th in 32:49.8. UCM's top-five was rounded out by Freshmen
Ian Frazier (56th) and
Ty Hughes (58th) and senior
Austin Gott (60th). The three all finished within six seconds of each other with Frazier in 33:32.9, Hughes in 33:34.7 and Gott in 33:38.5.
The Augustana men's team repeated as champions, with all five scorers placing in the top-10 as they scored 28 points. The Viking's Harold Karbo held on for a close win in 30:36.7.
Following Glamann was fellow senior
Allie Rexroat. Rexroat ran 22:59.6 to take home 34th place out of 189 competitors. Freshman
Nicole Svendsen also cracked the top-100, placing 79th with a personal-best 6K time of 24:07.8. Fellow freshman
Yesenia Gomez finished fourth for the Jennies in 25:17.6 and senior
Samantha Merritt completed the scoring, crossing the line in 25:19.2.
Minnesota-Duluth captured the women's team title scoring 40 points. The Bulldog's Samanta Rivard was the individual champion, breaking the tape in 21:05.8
With the cross country season in the books, UCM will turn its attention towards the upcoming track season. The first full-team track meet will be at home, Jan. 23rd for the UCM Invitational held in the Multipurpose Building.
