Warrensburg, Mo.— No. 17 Central Missouri (9-6, 6-1 MIAA) tops Fort Hays State (7-8, 2-5 MIAA) on their home court Friday, 25-13, 25-19, 25-19.
Annie Reilly tied the school record for service aces in a single-match for a second time this season. She had eight aces, with four in the last set alone.
The Jens held the lead for the entire first set. Fort Hays State had one tied the entire set, on the second point of the match. Fort Hays State caught the Jennies late in the second set, at 17-17. They then took a two point lead, before the Jennies scored eight straight to win the set. The Tigers had another small lead in the middle of the third set, but the Jennies caught up at 14-14 and Fort Hays did not tied the score again for the rest of the match.
Lauren Dudgeon ended the match with a kill, her second match ending kill of the season.
Carly Sojka led the Jennies in kills for the ninth match this season. She had 10 kills, and hit .391 in the match with two blocks.
Haley Thompson,
Maddie Jones,
Shelby Winkelmann, and
Kourtney Thompson also had two blocks in the match. H. Thompson had nine kills and hit .444, for the highest hitting percentage on the team. Jones and
Becca Blaise had eight kills each, while Winkelman had three and K. Thompson had two. K. Thompson also had 32 assists in three sets. Winkelmann had 11 digs, and was the only other Jennie to serve an ace. Aside from Reilly's eight aces, she also had 15 digs.
Central Missouri will take on No. 5 Nebraska-Kearney on their home court tomorrow at 3 p.m.
