BOLIVAR, Mo. -- The Mules and Jennies ran through a muddy course on a cold and windy evening at the Southwest Baptist Invitational in Bolivar, Mo. The race had been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 11, but was postponed due to rain. Both teams had a successful evening with the Mules finishing second out of five teams and the Jennies coming in third place out of six teams.
The Mules were led by
Adam Tredway who completed the 8K course in 25:48.86. He placed sixth out of 64 runners in the field. Following Tredway were
Michael Gawlick in 26:03.79 and
Austin Gott in 26:25.96 who placed 10th and 12th, respectively.
Spencer Hudson and
Ty Hughes round out the top five for UCM, crossing the line 26:42.31 and 26:47.07. Eric Schott from Missouri Southern was the top overall finisher in 25:08.97.
On the women's side,
Megan Glamann led the Jennies over the 5K course. Her time of 18:40.45 was good for third place overall. After Glamann were
Allie Rexroat and
Yesenia Gomez who crossed the line in 19:33.69 and 20:13.17 good for 12th and 19
th out of 48 runners. Rounding out the scoring for the Jens were
Coleen Grone (20:14.22) and
Nicole Svendsen (20:22.44). Dora Eastin from Missouri Southern took the individual title in 18:23.29.
UCM will return to action Saturday, Oct. 25 at the Graceland Yellowjacket Classic, in their final tune-up before the MIAA Championships.
