Joplin, Mo.—No. 15 Central Missouri Jennies (11-6, 8-1 MIAA) beat Missouri Southern in five sets on Friday night, 25-17, 25-16, 21-25, 26-28, 16-14.
Carly Sojka tied a career record, with 26 kills in the match.
Central Missouri won their first two sets of the match without allowing the Lions to take a lead.
Carly Sojka had 16 kills in the first two sets alone. The second and third sets were a close battle, but Missouri Southern got the best of the Jennies, and tied the match at 2-2. The Lions took a 4-0 lead in the final set, Central Missouri battled back and finally caught Missouri Southern at 14-14. The Jennies won the next two points to finished the match.
Sojka had her sixth double-double of the season, with 12 digs to her 26 kills. She also hit .226 in the match.
Haley Thompson and
Mackenzie Harding had ten kills each, H. Thompson also had five kills while Harding had one.Â
Annie Reilly served three aces, and had 16 digs in the match.
Becca Blaise and
Shelby Winkelmann each had 12 digs and an ace.
Kourtney Thompson had six kills, 53 assists, an ace, and to blocks.
The Jennies will play Central Oklahoma in Edmond, Okla. At 7 p.m. on Saturday. Â
