Scene Setter...
Jennies Softball split an MIAA doubleheader against Emporia State Tuesday at the South Recreation Complex, dropping game one 2-0 before snapping an 11 game losing streak to the Hornets that dated back to 2009 with a 6-2 victory in game two. 

Braylyn Bivens paced the offense in both games, going three for seven with three RBIs. Bivens hit the go-ahead double in the bottom of the third inning to break a 2-2 tie on the way to the Jens 6-2 win. 

In the circle, Jakki Prater took the loss in game one, pitching a complete game, striking out three and allowing two runs, dropping her record to 7-4. Katie Shockley picked up the win in the second contest, pitching 4.2 innings in relief to raise her record to 3-4. 

The Jennies host Augustana (S.D.) out of the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in a doubleheader Thursday, April 4 at the South Recreation Complex beginning at 1 p.m.

Augustana: Thursday''s doubleheader against the Vikings will be the 15th meeting all-time. The Jennies trail the series 9-5. The last time they met was 2009, with the Jennies taking a 3-2 victory over the Vikings. 

Head Coach Susan Anderson
 Jennies Softball head coach Susan Anderson is in her seventh season with the Cardinal and Black. She has an overall record of 199-154 as the bench boss at Central Missouri and a career record of 380-326 in 14 seasons as a head coach. 

Prior to coming to UCM, Anderson was at MIAA rival Northwest Missouri for four seasons where she went 124-96. 

Non-Conference Games
Central Missouri has been 782-571 in non-conference games since 1972, the beginning of softball at UCM. In the 'NCAA/MIAA Era' the Jennies have compiled a 638-448 non-conference mark. Anderson has a 110-100 record in non-conference contests.

Conference Games
Central Missouri has posted a 228-129 MIAA mark since the inception of the conference in 1983. Under Anderson the Jennies are 67-37 in conference action.

Home Field Advantage
Since the 1977 season, Central Missouri is 346-151 at home. Under Anderson, the Jennies are 59-21 at home. UCM has gone undefeated in the 2007 (8-0), 1991 (13-0), 1989 (8-0), and 1979 (6-0). The Jennies have compiled a 4-2 record at the South Rec. Complex this season. 

On the Road
Since 1977, UCM has posted a 215-198 mark on the road and a 422-315 record at neutral sites. Under Anderson the Jennies have gone 57-55 on the road and 77-74 at neutral sites. This season the Jennies have posted a road record of 3-5 and are 8-5 at neutral sites. 

Inside the Numbers
  • Braylyn Bivens leads the UCM offense through 28 games, hitting .404 with 14 RBIs in 94 at bats. She also leads the team in stolen bases, going 16-19.
  • Jakki Prater leads the team in RBIs, driving in 26 runs in 86 at bats. She also has a team-best four home runs.
  • Prater also paces the Jennies pitching rotation with an ERA of 2.04 and 7-4 record. She has struck out 71 in 89 innings and walked 25. Prater has a team-high nine complete games.

  • UCM is 13th in the MIAA in team fielding with percentage of .943. Fort Hays State leads the conference with a fielding percentage of .975.
