Scene Setter...
Jennies Softball will take to the road after concluding their eight game home stand this past weekend at the South Recreation Complex.
The Jennies will travel to the state capital Sunday for a 1 p.m. conference doubleheader with the Lincoln Blue Tigers before going to Bolivar Monday for a 2 p.m. twin bill with Southwest Baptist. The SBU doubleheader was originally scheduled for April 11 but inclement weather forced the postponement of the two games to Monday. 
UCM is coming off weekend doubleheaders that saw them sweep Truman Friday, 5-3 and 3-2, before dropping a pair of games to Lindenwood Saturday, 6-5 and 7-4.

Lincoln Blue Tigers (Location: Jefferson City, Mo.)
- Overall Record entering the week: 10-15-1, 2-10 MIAA

Series History
Lincoln: Sunday's doubleheader with Lincoln will be the 54 and 55 meetings all-time. The Jennies lead the series 51-2. Last season the Jennies split a doubleheader in Jefferson City with the Blue Tigers, dropping game one 3-1 before winning the second game 12-3. 

Southwest Baptist: Monday's rescheduled doubleheader with SBU will mark the 88 and 89 meetings all-time. The Jennies lead the series 71-19 but were swept but the Bearcats last year at home, losing 1-0 and 3-1. 

Head Coach Susan Anderson
Jennies Softball head coach Susan Anderson is in her seventh season with the Cardinal and Black. She has an overall record of 201-158 as the bench boss at Central Missouri and a career record of 382-330 in 14 seasons as a head coach. 

With the Jennies 5-3 win in game one against Truman Friday, April 5, Anderson picked up her 200th win as the Jennies bench boss. 

Prior to coming to UCM, Anderson was at MIAA rival Northwest Missouri for four seasons where she went 124-96. 

Non-Conference Games
Central Missouri has been 782-573 in non-conference games since 1972, the beginning of softball at UCM. In the 'NCAA/MIAA Era' the Jennies have compiled a 638-450 non-conference mark. Anderson has a 110-102 record in non-conference contests.

Conference Games
Central Missouri has posted a 230-131 MIAA mark since the inception of the conference in 1983. Under Anderson the Jennies are 69-39 in conference action.

Home Field Advantage
Since the 1977 season, Central Missouri is 348-155 at home. Under Anderson, the Jennies are 61-25 at home. UCM has gone undefeated in the 2007 (8-0), 1991 (13-0), 1989 (8-0), and 1979 (6-0). The Jennies have compiled a 6-6 record at the South Rec. Complex this season. 

On the Road
Since 1977, UCM has posted a 215-198 mark on the road and a 422-315 record at neutral sites. Under Anderson the Jennies have gone 57-55 on the road and 77-74 at neutral sites. This season the Jennies have posted a road record of 3-5 and are 8-5 at neutral sites. 

Inside the Numbers
  • Braylyn Bivens leads the UCM offense through 34 games, hitting .386 with 14 RBIs in 114 at bats. She also leads the team in stolen bases, going 20-23.
  • Jakki Prater leads the team in RBIs, driving in 29 runs in 106 at bats. She also has a team-best four home runs.
  • Ashlea Bengtson is hitting .324 through 34 games and hit her third home run of the season in the Jennies 6-5 loss to Lindenwood Saturday. 
  • Prater also paces the Jennies pitching rotation with an ERA of 2.39 and 8-5 record. She has struck out 84 in 102.1 innings and walked 25. Prater has a team-high 10 complete games. 
  • As a team the Jennies are hitting .290 while holding opponents to .265. UCM's team ERA is 3.46 while its opponents is 3.15.  
Jennies in the MIAA Statistics (As of April 8)
  • The Jennies are ninth in the MIAA in team batting with an average of .288. Central Oklahoma leads the league with a .345 average.
  • Central Missouri is 8th in the conference in team pitching with an ERA of 3.40. Fort Hays State leads the league with an ERA of 1.43.
  • UCM is 11th in the MIAA in team fielding with percentage of .951. Fort Hays State leads the conference with a fielding percentage of .973.

Upcoming Schedule...
The Jennies will return home to host MIAA-leading and 14th ranked Fort Hays State in a doubleheader at the South Recreation Complex Friday, April 19 beginning at 3 p.m. The Jennies will close out their 2013 MIAA regular season slate with a home doubleheader against Nebraska-Kearney Saturday, April 20 starting at 1 p.m. The Jennies will host Drury  (Mo.) the week of April 21 at a to be determined date and time.
