Scene Setter...
After going 3-3 last week in Durant, Okla. to open the 2013 season, the Jennies will travel to Bentonville, Ark. to play six games in the UAM 7-State Classic. The Jennies will face Henderson State and Southern Arkansas Friday before playing Ouchita Baptist and Southern Nazarene Saturday. The Jens will close out the weekend with a pair of games Sunday against Oklahoma Panhandle and Southwestern Oklahoma State. 
     The Jennies posted three straight wins to open the season last week in Durant, winning 2-1 against Arkansas-Monticello and 7-5 against Cameron on day one of the Southeastern Regional Invitational. The Jens then split day two of the invitational, winning 5-4 over Arkansas Tech before falling to Ouachita Baptist, 4-2. 
     The final day of the invitational was rained out, however, the Jennies played a doubleheader against Southeastern Oklahoma and fell in both games, 6-2 and 2-1.

Series History
Henderson State: This will be the fourth meeting between UCM and Henderson State. The Reddies hold a 1-2 lead in the series. The last time they met was 2010, with the Jennies falling to the Reddies in Arkadelphia, 1-0 and 7-1. 
Southern Arkansas: This will be the fourth meeting all-time between the Jennies and the Muleriders. Southern Arkansas leads the series 1-2 after defeating the Jennies last season in Pensacola, Fla., 8-4. 
Ouachita Baptist: This will be just the second meeting all-time between the Jennies and the Tigers. The first meeting came last week in Durant, Okla. when the Tigers handed the Jennies their first loss of the season, winning 4-2. 
Southern Nazarene: This will be the second meeting all-time for the Jennies and the Crimson Storm. Southern Nazarene leads to series 1-0. The last time the two met was in 2008 when the Jennies lost 3-1 to the Crimson Storm in the Central Oklahoma Tournament in Mustang, Okla. 
Oklahoma Panhandle: This will be the first meeting between the Jennies and the Aggies.
Southwestern Oklahoma State: This will be the second meeting all-time between the Jennies and the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs lead the series 1-0. The last meeting between the two schools was 2011 with the Bulldogs taking a 2-0 victory over the Jennies. 
Jennies in Season Openers
Central Missouri has gone 28-10 in season openers since the 1976 season. Under Head Coach Susan Anderson the Jennies are 2-5 in season openers. The Jennies won their season opener against Arkansas-Monticello February 8 by a 2-1 margin.
Non-Conference Games
Central Missouri has been 777-568 in non-conference games since 1972, the beginning of softball at UCM. In the 'NCAA/MIAA Era' the Jennies have compiled a 633-445 non-conference mark. Anderson has a 105-97 record in non-conference contests
Conference Games
Central Missouri has posted a 224-123 MIAA mark since the inception of the conference in 1983. Under Anderson the Jennies are 63-33 in conference action.
Home Field Advantage
Since the 1977 season, Central Missouri is 342-149 at home. Under Anderson, the Jennies are 58-20 at home. UCM has gone undefeated in the 2007 (8-0), 1991 (13-0), 1989 (8-0), and 1979 (6-0). Last season the Jennies were 8-8 at home. 
On the Road
Since 1977, UCM has posted a 212-194 mark on the road and a 420-314 record at neutral sites. Under Anderson the Jennies have gone 54-51 on the road and 72-70 at neutral sites.
Bengtson Leading The Charge
Jennies senior centerfielder Ashlea Bengtson leads the Jennies through six games in batting average with a .421 mark. She delivered the Jens first home run of the season, a grand slam in the sixth inning against Arkansas Tech, which eventually proved to be the game-winning hit as the Jennies went on to win the game, 5-4. The Wichita, Kan. native had at least one hit in every game last week. She was also perfect in the outfield, completing five putouts with no errors. 
Bivens Base Running
Junior infielder Braylyn Bivens was a perfect 4-4 in stolen base attempts through the Jennies first six games. She led the MIAA in stolen bases last season, going 25-28.

• At the conclusion of the fall 2012 athletic season, Central Missouri has won a combined 191 MIAA regular-season conference championships in 14 league sports to lead all schools.
• During the 2011-12 school year UCM captured seven MIAA regular season and three tournament championships.
• Since 1983, the tenure of Athletic Director Jerry Hughes, UCM has won or shared 137 MIAA championships, more than any other league school.
• Central Missouri has won five national championships since 1980 (men's and women's basketball in 1984, baseball in 1994 and 2003, and women's bowling in 2003) and seven national championships overall.
A Tradition of Excellence in the Classroom
• The 500+ Central Missouri student-athletes received 245 Academic Awards from the MIAA office for the 2011-12 academic year.
• 195 UCM student-athletes were named to the MIAA Academic Honor Roll with a 3.0 GPA or higher.
• 32 UCM student-athletes were named MIAA Scholar Athletes with at least a 3.5 GPA and having earned All-MIAA honors in their respective sport.
• 18 UCM student-athletes were named MIAA Academic Excellence Award winners with a 4.0 GPA.

The Jennies travel to Joplin, Mo. to participate in the Teri Mathis-Zenner Memorial Tournament March 1-2. The Jennies will battle Oklahoma Christian and Sioux Falls [S.D.] March 1 and conclude with games against Illinois-Springfield and Newman March 2.
