The Jennies opened up a 1-0 lead on the Gorillas in the bottom of the first in game one on a double by

Again the Jennies responded, this time in the bottom of the sixth on a single by Bengtson through the left side, knotting the game back up, 3-3 heading into the final inning. Jennies right-hander
Lacey Dixon then proceeded to strikeout the first two Gorilla batters and then was able to get the third out on a fly ball, giving the Jennies the chance to win the game in the bottom half of the inning.
Jordan Marble lead-off the bottom of the seventh with a single to shortstop and then
Katie Groves placed a perfect sacrifice bunt down, advancing pinch-runner
Karissa Williams to second. Williams then advanced to third on a passed ball by the Gorillas.
Braylyn Bivens hit a pop fly to shortstop to get the Gorillas second out of the inning, bringing up
Alex Groeger. Groeger stepped to the plate and blasted a single to centerfield, driving in Williams, giving the Jennies the walk-off 4-3 victory in game one.
Dixon was outstanding for the Jennies in game one, pitching a complete game, striking out nine Gorillas and issuing only two walks and a single earned run.
Game two started off well for the Jennies again, this time the Jens plated two runs in the bottom of the first on
Jakki Prater's third home run of the season, a deep ball to left centerfield, putting the Jens up, 2-0. The Jennies added another three runs in the bottom of the second starting with a single by
Alex Groeger and then a triple by
Jaydee Young and ending with a run scored on a throwing error by Pittsburg State, giving the Jennies the 5-0 lead. Pittsburg State didn't panic though and scored six runs in the top of the third, taking the 6-5 lead. The Jens answered right back in the bottom of the inning on a single by
Jordan Marble and another single by
Katie Groves, scoring two runs to retake the 7-6 lead. The Gorillas again answered in the top of the fourth with a run to retie the contest at seven but Central Missouri plated another two runs on a
Brittany Martin single to left field, reclaiming the lead at 9-7. The Gorillas chipped away and retied the score at nine with single runs in the sixth and seventh to force extra innings. Jennies right-hander
Lacey Dixon pitched another solid inning, striking out two Gorillas to send the game into the bottom of the eighth.
Nicole Norberg led off the bottom of the inning with a single to center field followed by a sacrifice bunt from
Ashlea Bengtson, advancing Norberg to second with Martin coming up to bat. Martin gave the Jens their second straight walk-off win over Pittsburg State when she hammered a single to centerfield, scoring Norberg, giving the Jennies the 10-9 victory.
Although Dixon only pitched 0.2 innings, she picked up her second win of the day, improving her overall record to 6-8 overall.
The Jennies are back in action Tuesday afternoon at home, facing Missouri Southern in a 4 p.m. MIAA doubleheader at the South Recreation Complex. The games were originally scheduled for Sunday but were pushed back due to inclement weather chances.
