Box Score (TOPEKA, Kan.) – After a hot-shooting performance to open up the game, the Jennies withstood a comeback attempt from the ninth-ranked Washburn Lady Blues, to pull off the road upset, 69-68. The win is the first for the Jennies over a top-10 program in two years, when they upset No. 5 Emporia State at home.
The Jennies (17-5, 11-5 MIAA) were running on all cylinders to start the game; missing the game's opening three-pointer, the Jennies hit five straight treys to go up 17-10.
Taylor Hanson hit her first five shots from long range, scoring a game-high 16 points in the first half.

Nicole Caddell balanced out the Jens' offensive attack in the first half, collecting 15 points from 7-of-12 shooting, including one of the Jennies nine three-pointers in the half. UCM finished strong, capping the first half with a 7-3 run that gave them a 44-32 edge. The Jens built a 12-point lead on the Lady Blues without much help from the charity stripe; UCM hit their one and only free throw of the first half to complete a four-point play when Hanson was fouled while hitting a three.
After hitting nine shots from long range in the first half, Central Missouri did not connect on a single three-pointer after halftime. Washburn chipped away at the Jennies advantage throughout the second half. Washburn's
Ebonie Williams hit a three of her own to open up play after the half, immediately cutting the Jennies lead back to single-digits. The Lady Blues pulled within two points after a 10-2 run made it 50-48 with 13:38 to play. Junior
Shaquanda Wiggins then scored eight straight points for the Jennies, and with a pair of free throws from
Kiersten Orton, the Jens regained a 10-point advantage with 8:33 to play.
Washburn made one last push, outscoring the Jennies 15-3 over a six-minute span, taking a 68-67 lead with :28 remaining off another trey from Williams.
The next possession was when Caddell hit her second game-winning layup this season, connecting from the middle of the lane to push the Jens ahead 69-68 with four seconds to play. Washburn's last-second attempt was off-target, and Central Missouri took their third win over a ranked opponent this season.
Caddell finished with 21 points to go with six boards and three assists. Hanson collected 16 points, all coming in the first half.
Central Missouri continues on their five-game road swing this Saturday, as they put their nine-game winning streak on the line against the Fort Hays Tigers, at 1:30 p.m.
