Both players finished with double-doubles, picking up 10 and 11 rebounds, respectively.

The Jennies (19-7, 13-7 MIAA) looked poised to take their 20th victory of the year early on, jumping out to a 14-5 lead, highlighted by a pair of three-pointers from Taylor Hanson and Renae Shippy. After the opening minutes, the Jens long-range game suffered, as the team went 3-of-14 from three for the rest of the game. Central Missouri maintained a single-digit lead throughout the first half, but Truman closed the half on an 8-3 run, cutting the UCM advantage to 29-26 at intermission.

The Bulldogs took their first lead of the game with 18:26 in the second half, with a layup from Jennifer Conway. With 5:21 remaining, UCM  took a 12-2 run to close out regulation, led by Caddell and Wiggins, each with six points during the run. With two seconds remaining, Shippy had a look at a baseline jumper, but the shot rimmed in and out as time expired.

After a slow start in overtime, Truman struck first with a layup, taking a 71-69 lead with 3:50 to play. Down 76-71 with 2:15 to play, Wiggins and Caddell hit back-to-back field goals to close within one with 22 seconds remaining, but the Bulldogs knocked down their free throws in the closing seconds, and the Jens ran out of time.
