2011 • Junior: Chosen as an AVCA All-American Honorable Mention selection for the second straight season … Also named to the AVCA All-South Central Region Team … All-MIAA Second Team selection for the second year in a row … Named to the NCAA South Central Regional All-Tournament Team after averaging 2.92 kills per set and hitting for a .400 average … Ranked fourth in the MIAA and 36th in the nation with a .343 hitting percentage … Averaged 2.18 kills per set … Second-highest blocks per set average (0.69) on the team, and highest among returners for 2012 … Ranks 9th on UCM’s all-time points scored list, with 1,080.5 … Appeared in 117 of 118 sets for the Jennies, starting all 35 matches … Reached double figures in kills in nine matches … Recorded 11 kills with a .647 hitting percentage against #25 Northern Michigan … On Sept. 10, Peniston posted a combined 26 kills while hitting .317 against Azusa Pacific and #3 Tampa … Hit for over .450 in five consecutive games from Sept. 23-Oct. 1 … Set a career-high with a .727 hitting percentage at Missouri Southern (8-0-11) … Recorded double-figure kills in all three matches in the South Central Regional, with 14 kills each against Abilene Christian and #5 Washburn … In the Regional Championship game against the Lady Blues, Peniston went 14-for-24 without an attack error, and with five total blocks.
2010 • Sophomore: An AVCA All-American Honorable Mention selection … Named AVCA All-South Central Region First Team … Named to the All-MIAA Second Team, her second All-MIAA honor in as many seasons … Ranked 5th in the MIAA in hitting percentage (.340) … In a seven-match stretch from Sept. 28-Oct. 8, Peniston hit .422 with 81 kills (3.38 K/set) … Hit for double-figure kills in 10 matches and set career highs with 20 points on 17 kills at Northwest Missouri … Led the team in solo blocks, block assists and total blocks … Earned MIAA Scholar-Athlete Award for her work in the classroom and making the all-conference team.
2009 • Redshirt Freshman: Earned All-MIAA Third Team honors in her first season of play … Led the team and conference in blocks per set (1.03) … Was the only Jennie to earn MIAA Player of the Week honors for her performance at Nebraska-Omaha, Nov. 13 when she set the team season-high mark for kills (20), and helped the Jens seal the MIAA title … Shared the team’s “Most Improved” award with Taylor Krejci … Earned MIAA Academic Honor Roll for her work in the classroom.
In High School: A two-year letterman, she led Valley Center HS to the state tournament in both seasons while earning all-conference honors as well … A first-team all-league selection as a senior, Peniston also played basketball and softball at VCHS … On the basketball court, she was named all-conference three times, two on the first-team, and was an honorable mention all-state pick twice … In softball, she lettered four seasons and has been named first-team all-conference at third base two times.
