Cross Country: Competed in one meet for the Mules as a freshman... Ran the 8k at the Chile Pepper Cross Country Festival (Sept. 29) in 28:41.4... Earned the MIAA Academic Newcomer Award for his work in the classroom. 

Indoor Track & Field: Ran in four meets for the Mules... Helped the DMR team that won the UCM Invitational (Jan. 19) with a time of 11:06.57... Finished the 800m run in 2:06.20 taking seventh place at the UCM Invitational (Jan. 19)... Helped the 4x400m relay team win the Friday Night Lights Last Chance Meet (Feb. 16) with a time of 3:41.58... Ran a season-best 4:29.63 mile run at the Friday Night Lights Last Chance Meet (Feb. 16) taking home fourth place.

Outdoor Track & Field: Competed in five meets for the Mules... Had a fourth place finish in the 3000m steeplechase at the PSU Tune-Up (April 20) with a season-best time of 9:59.91... Took seventh place in the 3000m steeplechase at the David Suenram Gorilla Classic (April 6) crossing the finish line in 10:18.27... Ran a season-best 800m in 2:00.46 at the UCM Mule Relays (April 12). 

In High School: Mathis was a four-year letter winner for head coach Michael Shortino and the Titans. 

Personal: Son of Mike and Carol Mathis... Majoring in construction management.
