Before UCM: Brian Adkins spent 2019 at the University of Tennessee-Martin in the Ohio Valley Conference. He got into five games and made three tackles. Prior to UT Martin, Adkins played two years at Collee of DuPage with Coach Matt Foster. In 10 games as a sophomore he made 39 tackles with three for a loss and seven interceptions. He added eight tackles and three pass breakups as a freshman.

In High School: Adkins played his high school ball at Streamwood High School for Coach Don Guidon where he was on the Upstate Eight All-Conference team and the Daily Herald First Team All-Area. Explosive with the ball in his hands, Adkins had an 85-yard touchdown return, 65-yard interception return and 33-yard touchdown reception in 2015.
