In high school Braun was a four time letter winner. He made Second Team All-Conference his junior and senior year. In his senior season he finished sixth at State.

Warrensburg High School won their conference all four years Braun was a part of the team. In his sophomore year the team finished second at districts, and fourth at state his senior year.

Braun also lettered all four years in football, and made Academic All-State senior year.

Braun is the son of Bob and Jeri Braun. He is majoring in Physical Education.
