Game 1: Central Missouri 4, Barry 3
After three consecutive singles from
Kyrsten Moran,
Cydney Fullerton, and
Bailey Brumley in the top of the first,
Taylor Thompson blasted her fifth dinger of the year to deep left field, giving the Jens a 4-0 lead.
Barry responded with three runs in the bottom of the seventh, and had the bases loaded with two outs, but Brumley (2-1) slammed the door with her fifth strikeout of the ballgame as the Buccaneers' comeback efforts fell just short.
Game 2: Barry 3, Central Missouri 2
Taylor Kvale scored the opening run of the ballgame thanks to a fielder's choice in the fourth, before Thompson belted her second homer of the day to left center field that doubled the UCM advantage in the seventh.
The Buccaneers had runners on second and third with one out before tying the ballgame with an RBI double. Barry completed the comeback with an RBI single, taking the doubleheader finale.
Riley Bebb (3-2) suffered the loss in the circle, striking out four Bucs batters, while Kvale and
Jadyn Sheffield paced UCM offensively with multi-hit ballgames for good measure.
