WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Central Missouri Jennies (13-3, 0-0 MIAA) split a pair of games against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (5-13, 0-3 SSC) on Thursday, March 5, from Simpson Field in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Central Missouri continues the 2026 season on Friday, March 6, as they play a doubleheader against the Barry Buccaneers (11-11, 5-1 SSC), with first pitch of game one slated for 10:00 a.m. (CST) from Buccaneer Field in Miami Shores, Fla.
Game 1: Palm Beach Atlantic 6, Central Missouri 5
The Sailfish jumped out to a six-run lead after posting back-to-back three-run frames in the second and third, but Central Missouri trimmed the lead in the fifth.
After an RBI double off the bat of
Bailey Brumley that scored Krysten Moran,
Taylor Thompson followed suit with a sacrifice fly that plated
Cydney Fullerton, making it 6-2 Palm Beach Atlantic.
Down to their final out of the game, Central Missouri began chipping away at the deficit, beginning with an RBI double to right center from
Aly Hageman that scored
Lexi Blackmon.
Emma McCall kept the line moving with an RBI single to right field, scoring Hageman, making it 6-4 Sailfish. The Jens' final run of the ballgame came off the bat of Moran, as UCM's comeback fell just short.
Riley Bebb (3-1) suffered the loss in the circle, while Moran paced the Jens offensively with three hits for good measure.
Game 1: Central Missouri 5, Palm Beach Atlantic 3
After Moran led off the ballgame with a double to left center, Fullerton brought her in with an RBI single, giving the Jens a 1-0 lead.
Brumley doubled the lead with her fourth home run of the year in the third, before plating the third run of the ballgame with an infield RBI single in the fourth.
With two on and nobody out in the top of the fifth, the Jens added a pair of runs, beginning with a sacrifice bunt off the bat of Blackmon before a McCall sacrifice fly scored
Malia Bucksath, making it 5-0 UCM.
The Sailfish answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning but couldn't complete the comeback as
Andi Siebeneck (6-1) earned her sixth win of the season in the circle, allowing four hits and one run while striking out a pair of PBA batters.
Brumley picked up her second save of the season, while pacing the Jens offensively with three hits in the ballgame for good measure.
