Thompson’s Three Run Shot in Seventh Helps Jennies Softball Split Doubleheader at No. 17 UCO Saturday

EDMOND, Okla. – The Central Missouri Jennies (18-8, 4-2 MIAA) split a pair of games against No. 17 Central Oklahoma Bronchos (25-6, 3-1 MIAA), taking game one by a final score of 6-5, before falling 9-0 (5 inn.), on Saturday, March 21, from Gerry Pinkston Stadium in Edmond, Okla.  
 
The Jens continues the 2026 campaign on Tuesday, March 24, as they take on the Quincy Hawks (5-22, 1-4 GLVC) for a pair of games, with first pitch of game one slated for 2:00 p.m. from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg. 
 
 
Game 1: Central Missouri 6, No. 17 Central Oklahoma 5
Thanks to an RBI single from Cydney Fullerton in the top of the third, the Jens opened the scoring before adding a pair of runs in the fourth with RBI singles from Lexi Blackmon and Jadyn Sheffield, making it 3-0 UCM.
 
Central Oklahoma cut into the lead with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fourth, before taking a 5-3 lead with three runs in the bottom of the sixth.
 
With two on and two out in the top of the seventh, Taylor Thompson delivered her seventh homer of the season that plated Sheffield and Bailey Brumley giving the Jens a one-run advantage.
 
Andi Siebeneck picked up her first save of the season, shutting the door on the Bronchos' comeback attempt, while Madelyn Ducheneaux (3-0) earned her third victory of the season in relief.
 
Sheffield paced the Jens offensively with three hits in the ballgame, while Blackmon also recorded a multi-hit performance for good measure.  
 

Game 2: No. 17 Central Oklahoma 9, Central Missouri 0 (5 inn.)  
In the doubleheader finale, the Bronchos plated four runs in the bottom of the fourth and never relinquished en route to their 25th victory of the season.
 
Siebeneck (7-2) suffered the loss in the circle, while Sheffield paced the Jens offensively in the ballgame.
