No. 4 Jennies Basketball Season Comes to a Close in NCAA-II Central Regional Semifinals

MANKATO, Minn. – Fourth-seeded University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball saw its 2025-26 season come to an end on Saturday, March 14, in the NCAA-II Central Regional Semifinals, falling to the No. 8-seeded Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs, 81-48, inside the Taylor Center on the Minnesota State University campus.

The Jennies wrap up their season with an overall record of 26-7 and as MIAA Regular Season Champions with a conference record of 17-2.

The Bulldogs (22-8) raced out to a 27-7 lead after shooting 64 percent from the field and 56 percent from three-point range in the first quarter and never looked back en route to their win.

In her final game for the Jennies, senior Reese Schaaf scored 23 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Schaaf caps her two-year career at UCM ranked third in career scoring average (19.1 points per game), tied for third in career rebounding average (9.9 rebounds per game), and fourth in career free-throw percentage (.845). The El Dorado Springs, Mo., native netted 1,243 points in her 65 games at Central Missouri, which is 24th-highest in program history.

Taylor Weishaar added seven points, Makenzie Farmer had six points, and Rylee Vierthaler netted five points, rounding out the UCM leaders in the contest.

For the game, the Jennies shot just 30 percent from the field (18-of-61), 17 percent from three-point range (3-of-18), and were 64 percent at the free-throw line (9-of-14).

UCM outrebounded Minnesota Duluth, 38-37, but were outscored in the paint, 50-26, and off turnovers, 26-7.

Lexi Karge scored 16 points, and Claire Bjorge added 15 points to pace the Bulldogs.
