Jennies Softball Splits Doubleheader with Fort Hays State

Game 1: Central Missouri 7, Fort Hays State 1
The Tigers opened the scoring with a run in the top of the first, but Central Missouri evened the game with an RBI infield single from Bailey Brumley that scored Kyrsten Moran.

The Jens took the lead for good with a Lexi Blackmon solo shot in the bottom of the fourth, before Brumley delivered her second RBI of the ballgame in the fifth that plated Sheffield.

Three batters later, Marisa Johnson put the exclamation point in the frame with a grand slam as Brumley (3-2) picked up her third victory of the season in the circle, allowing one run on seven hits, while striking out a season-high six Tiger batters.

Moran, Brumley, and Blackmon each collected two hits in the ballgame, pacing the Jens offensively for good measure.

Game 2: Fort Hays State 3, Central Missouri 2
Taylor Thompson gave the Jens an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first with an RBI single.

The Tigers took the lead with a trio of runs in the sixth, before Johnson cut the lead in half with an RBI single in the bottom of the inning that scored Aly Hageman.

UCM's comeback efforts fell short as Riley Bebb (3-2) suffered the loss, allowing two runs on five hits, striking out three on 62 pitches in the ballgame.
