PITTSBURG, Kan. – University of Central Missouri Track & Field wrapped up the 2026 MIAA Indoor Championships on Sunday, March 1, at the Robert W. Plaster Center with three MIAA Conference Championships and two runner-up showings.
For the three-day meet, the Mules and Jennies tallied three conference crowns, four runner-up honors, and three third-place performances.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Nolan Vancauwemberghe captured the MIAA men's 60m hurdles conference title after running a school record, provisional, and personal best time of 7.70.
- Grizell Scarlett won two MIAA championships on the day, capturing the conference crowns in both the women's 60m dash and 200m dash. She posted a provisional time of 7.31 in the 60m dash before running a provisional, personal-best, and school-record time of 23.56 in the 200m dash.
- The Jennies finished fourth, sixth, and seventh in the women's 60m hurdles final. Michenainda Aritus just missed getting on the podium, placing fourth with a provisional time of 8.62, while Chika Bekwunye was sixth with a provisional time of 8.77, and Pau Martinez was eighth with a time of 8.84.
- Jayson Williams finished sixth in the men's 200m dash with a time of 21.72. Ariel Kerr was eighth at 21.94.
- Emily Meeks finished eighth in the women's 200m dash with a time of 24.99.
Distance
- Marianna Bizon finished second in the women's 3,000m run with a provisional and personal best time of 9:49.53. Her time ranks second-fastest in indoor school history.
- Cooper Palmer collected his second runner-up finish of the indoor championships, placing second in the men's 3,000m run with a time of 8:20.09. Palmer was also second in the men's 5,000m run on Saturday.
- Yunus Altinay was seventh in the men's 600-yard run with a personal best time of 1:12.13.
Relays
Jumps
- Myah Morris placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 11.18m (36-08.25).
- Landon Childs posted a top 10 performance in the men's pole vault, placing ninth with a mark of 4.89m (16-0.50).
Throws
- Briley Wishard and Madison Mears both finished in the top 10 in the women's shot put. Wishard was seventh with a mark of 13.52m (44-04.25), and Mears was eighth with a mark of 13.49m (44-03.00).
Team Results
- In the final team standings for the meet, the Jennies placed fourth with 71 points, and the Mules were sixth with 56 points.
The 2026 NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships are scheduled for March 13-14 in Virginia Beach, Va.
