SHAWNEE, Kan. – The Central Missouri Jennies (12-2, 0-0 MIAA) defeated the Minnesota State-Moorhead Dragons (1-11, 0-0 NSIC) by a final score of 9-1 (6 inn.), before taking down the Bemidji State Beavers (3-11, 0-0 NSIC) 6-1, on Saturday, Feb. 28, during the final day of the Midwest College Classic from MidAmerica Sports Complex in Shawnee, Kan.
Central Missouri continues the 2026 season on Thursday, March 5, as they play a doubleheader against the Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (3-9, 0-0 SSC), with first pitch of game one slated for noon (CST) from Simpson Field in West Palm Beach, Fla.
Game 1: Central Missouri 9, Minnesota State-Moorhead 1 (6 inn.)
The Jens opened the scoring with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first, beginning with an RBI single from
Taylor Thompson, which scored Krysten Moran, before
Marisa Johnson's RBI groundout plated
Cydney Fullerton.
After the Dragons cut the lead in half in the second, Central Missouri responded in the fourth with a Moran RBI scoring
Jadyn Sheffield, before Moran scored on a sacrifice fly by Thompson, making it 4-1 Jens.
UCM added a pair of runs in the fifth, taking advantage of Dragon wild pitches, before
Bailey Brumley capped off the frame with an RBI single, scoring
Teelie Super and Sheffield, making it 8-1.
Johnson led off the sixth inning with a walk-off blast, her team-leading fifth of the season as
Riley Bebb (3-0) picked up her third win of the season and second complete-game effort, allowing four hits while striking out three.
Four Jens had multi-hit ballgames, highlighted by three hits from Brumley, while three batters drove in a pair of runs for good measure.
Game 1: Central Missouri 6, Bemidji State 1
Central Missouri plated a pair of runs in the opening frame of the ballgame, but the Beavers trimmed the lead in half with a run in the bottom of the inning.
With two on and two out in the top of the fifth,
Emma McCall was called on to pinch-hit and delivered with an RBI single to left field, scoring Sheffield, reclaiming a two-run lead before the Jens added a trio of insurance runs in the seventh.
Madelyn Ducheneaux (1-0) earned her first win as a Jen in the circle, allowing one hit while striking out two as Thompson paced Central Missouri offensively with a multi-hit ballgame for good measure.
