UCM Track & Field Tunes Up for Postseason Competition at Northwest Missouri Tune Up Meet Thursday

MARYVILLE, Mo. – University of Central Missouri Track & Field competed at the Northwest Missouri State University Tune Up Meet on Thursday, Feb. 19, inside Hughes Fieldhouse, marking its second-to-last regular-season meet before postseason competition begins.

Sprints/Hurdles
  • The Jennies had two top-five finishers in the women's 60m hurdles. Pau Martinez ran a personal best time of 9.03 to place second, while Kendall Gray was third with a time of 9.20.
  • August Meadows placed in the top five for the Mules in the 60m hurdles, posting a time of 8.69.
  • The Mules finished second and fifth in the men's 60m dash. Sam-Efe Agalivie finished runner-up with a personal best time of 6.84, while Riley Rolwing was fifth with a personal best of 6.921.
  • Rolwing placed second to pace the Mules in the 200m dash, tallying a personal best time of 21.94.
  • Anayla Waters compiled a top-five showing in the women's 200m dash, placing fifth with an indoor personal best time of 25.86.
  • The Mules went 1-2-3 in the men's 600-yard run. Yunus Altinay captured first place with a time of 1:12.93, Connor McKee was second with a time of 1:14.61, and Meadows was third with a time of 1:15.97.
  • The Jennies finished first and third in the women's 600-yard run. Abigail Gilliatt won the event with a personal best time of 1:28.77, and Cortney Knutson was third with a time of 1:31.49.
Throws
  • The Mules placed third and fourth in the men's weight throw invite division. Landon Mason was third with a mark of 18.19m (59-08.25), and Shon Stark placed fourth with a mark of 17.90m (58-08.75).
  • Briley Wishard had a top-five showing in the women's shot put, placing second with a mark of 13.31m (43-08.00).
Jumps
  • UCM went first and third in both the women's high jump and men's long jump. Kwyn Hamlin took first in the high jump with a personal best mark of 1.59m (5-02.50), while Journey Sander was third, clearing a mark of 1.49m (4-10.50). In the long jump, Jeremy Bennett jumped 6.78m (22-03.00) to win the event, and Keaton Stone had a mark of 6.52m (21-04.75), finishing third.
  • Lauren Welch placed third in the women's long jump with a personal best mark of 5.53m (18-01.75).
  • Landon Childs placed first in the men's pole vault with a personal best and provisional mark of 5.03m (16-06.00).
  • Myah Morris was runner-up in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.20m (36-09.00).
Several Mules & Jennies are scheduled to compete in the Arkansas Qualifier on Friday, Feb. 20, in Fayetteville, Ark., which will be the final indoor meet of the regular season for UCM.
