No. 27 Jennies Sit in Seventh After Day One of the Southern Invite

SPRING, Texas – The No. 27 Jennies golf team sits in seventh place after the first two rounds of the Southern Invite on Monday, Feb. 16. The Jennies currently are 38-over par, going 16 and 22 over par in the first two rounds. 

No. 6 University of Texas-Tyler is in first place at 6-over par, and No. 2 Dallas Baptist University is in second place at 11-over par. MIAA foe, No. 31 Rogers State, rounds out the top three with 29-over par. 

The leader for the Jennies is Libby Green, who currently sits in the 19th spot after going 7-over par on the day, making par (72) in round one and carding a 79 in the second round. Senior Kiki Bruner sits in 27th, going 10-over par (77,77). 

Hannah Mottert and Ansley Giesselmann are both tied in 32nd place, going 11-over par. Mottert went 77, 78 in the rounds, and Giesselmann went 78 and 77. Addy Davis rounds out the Jens, sitting in 77th, going 28 over par. 

Individually, No. 7 Martha Laremark from the University of Texas-Tyler is in first, going 1-under par (71, 72). Henderson State's No. 63 Lily Nelson and UT Tyler's No. 128 Lucy Kate Smith are currently tied in second, making par in both rounds. 


UCM will finish out the tournament on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at the Cypresswood Golf Club in Spring, Texas.
