TOPEKA, Kan. – The University of Central Missouri Track & Field teams excelled on the final day of action at the Washburn Open on Saturday, Jan. 31, inside the Washburn Indoor Athletic Facility.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Nolan Vancauwemberghe won the men's 60m hurdles with a provisional time of 7.83.
- Grizell Scarlett finished runner-up in the women's 60m dash final, posting a provisional time of 7.43.
- Grant Mohler clocked a provisional time of 6.75 to place third in the men's 60m dash final.
Distance
- Marianna Bizon ran a personal-best time of 4:57.14 to place eighth in the women's mile. Her time ranks sixth-fastest in indoor school history.
Jumps
- Landon Childs placed fourth in the men's pole vault invite division with a mark of 4.76m (15-07.25).
- The Jennies had two top 10 performances in the women's pole vault invite division. Haley Sexton placed sixth with a mark of 3.57m (11-08.50) while Kaira Mannio was ninth with an identical mark of 3.57m (11-08.50). Sexton bested Mannio by virtue of her clearing 3.57m on her first attempt, while Mannio cleared the height on her third and final attempt.
Throws
- Briley Wishard and Madison Mears both placed in the top 10 of the women's shot put. Wishard was sixth with a mark of 12.83m (42-01.25), and Mears was eighth with a mark of 12.49m (40-11.75). Wishard also finished in the top 10 in the women's weight throw, posting a personal-best mark of 15.23m (49-11.75) to secure 10th place.
Multi-Events
- Mules Track & Field's Owen Koski finished 10th in the men's heptathlon with a personal-best tally of 4,449 points. Koski recorded top 10 finishes in the 60m dash, high jump, and 1,000m run.
The Mules and Jennies are scheduled to travel to Maryville, Mo., for the Northwest Missouri State Bearcat Invitational Feb. 6-7 inside Hughes Fieldhouse.
