MARYVILLE, Mo. – The University of Central Missouri Mules and Jennies Track & Field teams opened the 2026 portion of their indoor schedule with nine NCAA Division II provisional marks and numerous strong showings at the Coach Richard Alsup Open Saturday, Jan. 17, inside Hughes Fieldhouse on the Northwest Missouri State University campus.
Sprints/Hurdles
- Rawley Chard won the men's 400m dash with a provisional time of 47.32, which is the third-fastest in NCAA-II this season. Jensen Schrickel was fourth in the event, running a personal-best time of 49.41.
- Ariel Kerr and Grant Mohler finished fourth and fifth for the Mules in the men's 60m dash final. Kerr was fourth with a provisional time of 6.81, while Mohler was fifth with a provisional time of 6.82. In the men's 60m dash prelims, Mohler clocked the fifth-fastest time in school history, running a provisional and personal best 6.76.
- Kerr also compiled a top-five finish in the men's 200m dash, placing second with a time of 22.08.
- Grizell Scarlett posted a time of 24.67 to finish third in the women's 200m dash.
- Marissa Austene placed fifth in the women's 60m dash final, posting a personal best time of 7.78.
Distance
- Cooper Palmer won the men's 3,000m run with a personal-best and school record time of 8:14.32. Palmer bested his previous school record time of 8:15.98, set last season. Â
- Marianna Bizon placed third in the women's mile with a personal-best time of 4:59.98. Her time ranks sixth-fastest in indoor school history.
Jumps
- The Mules went 1-2-4 in the men's high jump. Zachary Proctor took first place with a provisional and personal-best mark of 2.07m (6-09.50) while Wyatt Irwin was second, also clearing a provisional height of 2.07m (6-09.50). Proctor earned top honors after clearing 2.04m (6-08.25) on his second attempt, while Irwin cleared the same height on his third attempt. Braiden Ferrel placed fourth, clearing a personal-best 1.93m (6-04.00).
- The Jennies placed 1-3-4 in the women's long jump. Michenainda Aritus was first with a provisional and personal-best-tying mark of 5.99m (19-08.00), Marissa Austene was third with a provisional and personal-best mark of 5.72m (18-09.25), and Kristen Jones was fourth with a mark of 5.69m (18-08.00). Aritus's mark is fourth-best in indoor school history. Â
- The Jennies finished 1-2-3-4 in the women's pole vault. Kaira Mannio won the event with a mark of 3.57m (11-08.50), Haley Sexton cleared 3.42m (11-02.50) to place second, Alaina Lowman was third with a mark of 3.42m (11-02.5), and Sydnie Bernard was fourth with a mark of 3.27m (10-08.75).
- The Mules were first and second in the men's pole vault. Landon Childs cleared 4.55m (14-11.00) for the top spot while Karter Kueser was runner-up with a mark of 4.40m (14-05.25).
- The Mules had a pair of two-five performers in the men's long jump. Evan Gosnell was third with a mark of 6.81m (22-04.25), while Jeremy Bennett was fifth with a mark of 6.54m (21-05.50).
- Myah Morris finished fourth in the women's triple jump with a mark of 11.22m (36-09.75).
- Therese Reindl was fourth in the women's high jump with a mark of 1.55m (5-01.00).
Throws
- Landon Mason won the men's weight throw with a provisional and personal-best mark of 18.25m (59-10.50).
- Briley Wishard was third in the women's shot put with a mark of 13.11m (43-0.25).
Relays
UCM Track & Field is back in action on Jan. 30 at the Washburn Open in Topeka, Kan.
