  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball (11-4, 5-1 MIAA) is set to travel to Newman (7-8, 1-5 MIAA) on Wednesday, Jan. 14, and Emporia State (8-7, 2-4 MIAA) on Saturday, Jan. 17, for a pair of MIAA road games. The Jennies will take on the Jets at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday inside Fugate Gym in Wichita, Kan., prior to facing the Lady Hornets at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday inside historic William L. White Auditorium in Emporia, Kan.
  • The Jennies, who have won five consecutive games entering the week, are coming off a 58-55 victory over the Missouri Western State University Griffons on Saturday, Jan. 10, in St. Joseph, Mo.

  • In the MIAA team statistics, Central Missouri is sixth in scoring offense (70.3 ppg.), second in scoring defense (58.0 ppg.), second in field-goal percentage (.428) and three-point percentage (.338), seventh in free-throw percentage (.712), fifth in rebounding (40.6 rpg.), fourth in assist-to-turnover ratio (0.95), third in blocks (3.9 bpg.), second in assists (15.7 apg.), and eighth in steals (8.0 spg.).
SCORING AND CRASHING THE GLASS
  • Reese Schaaf leads the Jennies with five double-doubles on the season. She has posted three consecutive double-doubles and has four double-doubles in her last five games entering the week. Schaaf ranks second in the conference in double-doubles on the season.
REESE SCHAAF, TAYLOR WEISHAAR AMONG JENNIES' CAREER LEADERS
  • Reese Schaaf is ranked fifth in career rebounding for the Jennies with 9.4 rebounds per game in 47 career contests. In addition, she is fourth in free-throw percentage at .844 (173-of-205) and fourth in scoring average at 18.1 points per game.
  • Taylor Weishaar is 10th in career blocks for the Jennies with 89 swats in 47 career games.

  • Reese Schaaf posted her third straight and team-best fifth double-double of the season, and Taylor Weishaar and Neely Schaaf both scored in double figures as the University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball team earned a 58-55 victory over the Missouri Western State University Griffons on Saturday afternoon, Jan. 10, inside the MWSU Fieldhouse.
  • Central Missouri led by seven points, 50-43, with 5:19 to go in the fourth quarter before MoWest made a late charge, trimming the UCM lead to one twice in the final two minutes, but Reese Schaaf made three free throws in the final 1:24, and MWSU missed a game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer, securing the Central Missouri triumph.
  • Reese Schaaf went 7-of-14 from the field and 3-of-5 at the free-throw line for her 18 points and pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds for the double-double. Weishaar added 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the floor and a 5-of-6 showing at the free-throw line, and Neely Schaaf had 11 points, rounding out the UCM leaders.
  • The Jennies shot 31 percent from the floor (20-of-64) and attempted 39 three-pointers in the game, converting eight for 21 percent. UCM went 10 out of 15 at the foul line for 67 percent. Central Missouri outrebounded Missouri Western State University (5-10, 1-5 MIAA), 43-32.
  • The 39 three-point attempts were four shy of tying the program single-game record of 43 set in 2008 against Graceland.
PRESEASON PICKS
  • The Jennies were voted fourth in both the 2025-26 MIAA Preseason Coaches' Poll and MIAA Preseason Media Poll. UCM received 138 points and one first-place vote in the preseason coaches' poll and 271 points and four first-place votes in the preseason media poll.
NEW FACES JENNIES INK PAIR OF HIGH SCHOOL STANDOUTS
  • University of Central Missouri Jennies Basketball head coach Dave Slifer announced Tuesday, Nov. 25, the signing of two high school standouts to the program's 2026 recruiting class.
  • Regan Becker, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Blue Valley Northwest High School, and McKinli Mays, a 5-foot-7 guard out of El Dorado Springs High School, have signed to continue their education and compete at the University of Central Missouri beginning in the fall of 2026.
FAMILY CONNECTION
  • The Jennies have two siblings on the 2025-26 roster in El Dorado Springs natives senior Reese Schaaf and freshman Neely Schaaf.
SLIFER AMONG THE BEST
  • Jennies Basketball 22nd season head coach Dave Slifer is ranked fifth in career victories in all of NCAA (Division I, II, III) with his 833 career wins in 36 years. In Division II, Slifer is second in career victories, trailing only Tom Shirley of Jefferson, who posted 905 victories in 43 years.
