ST. JOSEPH, Mo. – The (Receiving Votes) Central Missouri Mules (13-5, 4-5 MIAA) fell to the (Receiving Votes) Missouri Western Griffons (12-5, 4-2 MIAA) by a final score of 88-76, Saturday, Jan. 10, inside MWSU Fieldhouse in St. Joseph.
Missouri Western led by four at the break and never relinquished as they improved to 12-5 overall and 4-2 in MIAA play, led by Ty Henry's game-high 23 points, three steals, and two boards.
Four Mules ended the contest scoring in double figures, including a second consecutive 19-point outing from Omaha, Neb. native
Trinell Parker. The freshman connected on 9-of-11 from the field, adding four rebounds on the afternoon.
Forward
Jevon Hill had 16 points, connecting on 6-of-10 from the floor, including 4-of-7 from beyond the arc, while grabbing a team-best seven rebounds.
Guard
Lazerek Houston (game-high six assists) and reigning MIAA Freshman of the Year
Kyran Tilley (three assists) ended the game with 15 points each.
Forward
Carter Kaifes had five points and two boards, while
Jake Fritz (five rebounds and three steals),
Noah Martin, and
Kyree Polk contributed two points each in the ballgame.
The Mules continue MIAA play on Wednesday, Jan. 14, as they take on the Newman Jets (5-10, 1-5 MIAA), with tip-off slated for 7:30 p.m., inside Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kan.
