  • Central Missouri volleyball continues the 2025 season with a pair of matches on Friday, Sept. 12, as they take on No. 13 Grand Valley State at noon (CST) and the Hillsdale Chargers (3:00 p.m., CST) in the opening day of the Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids Downtown Classic inside the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale, Mich.
  • The Jens will take on the (RV) Findlay Oilers at 10:00 a.m. (CST), Saturday, Sept. 13, inside the Davenport Student Center in Grand Rapids, Mich.
  • Central Missouri went 2-1 this past weekend with sweeps over Roosevelt (25-11, 25-10, 25-15) and Illinois-Springfield (25-16, 25-18, 25-14) in the opening day of the UIS Volleyball Tournament in Springfield, Ill.
  • UCM was picked fifth in the 2025 MIAA Preseason Volleyball Coaches' Poll that was released on Friday, Aug. 22.

  • Friday's match against the Lakers will be available on a pay-per-view basis through the FLO Volleyball Network. Coverage begins at noon from the GVSU Fieldhouse Arena in Allendale, Mich.
  • Central Missouri's match against the Hillsdale Chargers will be available on the Grand Valley State Lakers YouTube channel. Coverage begins at 3:00 p.m. (CST) in Allendale, Mich.

Meet the Jens
  • Central Missouri returns 14 players from last year's squad while adding seven newcomers, including two transfers and four freshmen.
  • Setter Shelbi Wilson spent the previous two seasons playing for Hutchinson CC (Kan.) while redshirt junior Kaelyn McDonald transferred from MIAA foe Arkansas-Fort Smith.
  • Defensive specialist/libero Ragin Corwin (Blue Springs, Mo.), middle blocker Bria Dawson (Overland Park, Kan.), outside hitter Aspen Nelsen (Indianola, Iowa), and outside hitter Sammy Klotz (Hoyt, Kan.) are entering their first season of collegiate volleyball.  
Series History
  • No. 13 Grand Valley State: Friday marks the fifth meeting all-time between the Lakers and Central Missouri on the volleyball court, with the Jens winning all four previous contests. The latest matchup was during the 2010 Tampa Classic, with UCM sweeping the Lakers 25-14, 25-20, 25-13 from the Martinez Sports Complex in Tampa, Fla.  
  • Hillsdale: Friday afternoon's match will be just the second all-time meeting between UCM and the Chargers. The Jens defeated Hillsdale by a final score of 3-2 (25-16, 25-20, 18-25, 16-25, 15-10), on Saturday, Sept. 7, in Lakeland, Fla         
  • (RV) Findlay: Saturday's contest will be the second all-time meeting between the Oilers and Central Missouri. The Jens swept the previous matchup, winning 26-24, 26-24, 25-22 in the opening match of the Hampton Inn-Vitational, on Thursday, Sept. 1, in Pensacola, Fla.
Jens By the Numbers
  • Central Missouri is averaging 12.8 digs, 12 kills, 10.1 assists, 2.3 blocks and 1.1 service aces per set through three matches this season. 
  • Redshirt junior Kaelyn McDonald's seven total blocks and 0.88 blocks per set paces UCM defensively in the front row while posting 15.5 points, 10 kills, and four digs. McDonald posted five kills in back-to-back matches on Friday, Sept. 5, against Roosevelt and Illinois-Springfield, including a match-high six blocks in the sweep of the Lakers.  
  • Redshirt sophomore Emma Siron leads the team with 36 points and 28 kills, averaging 2.80 kills per set. After being sidelined last season due to injury, the Sedalia, Mo. native has recorded at least nine kills in each of the team's first three matches, including a season-best 10 in the sweep over UIS on Friday, Sept. 5.
  • Libero Grace Winkelmann leads the Jens defensively in the back row with 48 digs, averaging 4.80 digs per set, adding seven assists and a .977 reception percentage in 43 attempts. The Rhineland, Mo. native has collected 1,432 career digs coming into play on Friday.  
UCM in the Postseason
  • The Jens made their 37th NCAA Tournament appearance in program history last season and the first under 2023 MIAA Coach of the Year Caitlin Peterson, as the Jens have a 41-41 overall record, including eight NCAA Regional Championships.
