Jennies Softball’s Thompson Earns CSC Second Team Academic All-America® Honors

AUSTIN, Texas – Central Missouri Jennies softball designated player Taylor Thompson has been named a 2025 CSC Second Team Academic All-American® for her accomplishments in the classroom and on the diamond for the 2024-25 season, announced on Tuesday, June 17.

A native of Noblesville, Ind., Thompson becomes the first Jens softball student-athlete since 2015 to earn CSC (College Sport Communicators, formerly COSIDA) Academic All-America® honors after being selected to the All-District® team earlier this season.

The sophomore finished the academic year with a 3.78 GPA majoring in Occupational Safety while leading the Jens with a .378 batting average, 59 hits, 50 RBI, 17 doubles, a team-high nine homers, and 103 total bases playing in all 49 games.

The 2025 First Team All-MIAA selection's 18-game hitting streak also paced UCM offensively while recording 15 multi-hit ballgames and 13 games driving in multiple RBI for good measure. Taylor became the newest member of the 100-hit club doing so in the final game of the regular season against Rockhurst (Aprill 22) en route to being named a NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) and D2CCA (Division II Conference Commissioner's Association) Second Team All-Central Region selection.
