AUSTIN, Texas – Five Central Missouri softball student-athletes were selected to the 2025 CSC Academic All-District® Softball team including
Bailey Brumley,
Jadyn Sheffield,
Morgan Shields,
Taylor Thompson, and
Brooke Weimer for their efforts in both the classroom and on the diamond, the College Sports Communicators announced on Tuesday, May 27.
A native of Blue Springs, Mo., Brumley earned her first CSC Academic All-District® selection maintaining a 3.7 GPA as a Marketing major while starting 46 games at first base. She ended the season ranking second on the team in numerous offensive categories including batting average (.369), total bases (76), hits (55), RBI (40), and doubles (13). Bailey also had 15 multi-hit games along with 10 games driving in multiple runs highlighted by a season-best five RBI against William Jewell (Feb. 8) en route to being named a 2025 All-MIAA Honorable Mention selection.
A native of Olathe, Kan., Sheffield earns her second consecutive CSC Academic All-District® nod with a 3.83 GPA majoring in Business Management while starting all 49 games for the Jens at second base. Jadyn finished the season with a .302 batting average collecting 56 total bases, 45 hits including nine for extra bases while scoring the second-most runs on the team with 36. The 2025 All-MIAA Gold Glove selection sported a .988 fielding percentage while having eight multi-hit ballgames and five games driving in multiple RBI for good measure.
A native of Troy, Mo., Shields earns her first CSC Academic All-District® selection with a 3.59 GPA majoring in Agriculture Science while starting all 49 games for the Jens at third base. Morgan finished the season with a .274 batting average, belting a team-best nine home runs on the year while ranking third in runs scored with 33. Her 66 total bases and 32 RBI were fourth-most on the team while compiling eight games with multiple RBI, a six-game hitting streak and six multi-hit games for good measure.
A native of Noblesville, Ind., Thompson earned her first CSC Academic All-District® nod with a 3.78 GPA majoring in Occupational Safety while leading the team with a .378 batting average, 59 hits, 50 RBI, 17 doubles, a team-high nine homers, and 103 total bases playing in all 49 games. The 2025 First Team All-MIAA selection's 18 game hitting streak also paced UCM offensively while recording 15 multi-hit ballgames and 13 games driving in multiple RBI for good measure. Taylor became the newest member of the 100-hit club doing so in the final game of the regular season against Rockhurst (Aprill 22) en route to being named a NFCA (National Fastpitch Coaches Association) and D2CCA (Division II Conference Commissioner's Association) Second Team All-Central Region selection.
A native of Macon, Mo., Weimer earned her first CSC Academic All-District® selection with a 3.73 GPA majoring in Chemistry while leading the Jens with a 13-9 record with a 2.09 ERA tossing 17 complete games including six shutouts in 26 appearances. The 2025 First Team All-MIAA team member had 173 strikeouts on the season in 141 innings pitched and tossed the 25
th no-hitter in program history against Missouri Western (March 22) striking out eight Griffons in the process. Brooke had seven outings with 10 or more strikeouts on the year while allowing a .182 batting average to opposing hitters for good measure.
Brumley, Sheffield, Thompson, and Weimer are now eligible for the Academic All-America® teams which will be announced on Tuesday, June 17.
The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2024-25 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
