EMPORIA, Kan. – Logan Grover paced University of Central Missouri Track & Field on the opening day of the 2025 MIAA Outdoor Championships Friday, May 2, at Francis G. Welch Stadium on the Emporia State University campus.
Grover sits in third place in the decathlon through five out of 10 events with 3,620 points while Mules teammate
Jesus Flores is in sixth place with 3,427 points.
In the women's heptathlon, the Jennies'
Kristen Jones sits in sixth with 2,574 points with four out of six events in the books.
Grover won the shot put with a mark of 12.70m (41-08.00), finished third in the high jump at 1.88m (6-02.00), fourth in the long jump (6.60m/21-08.00) and 400m dash (51.69), and fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 11.20 for his 3,620 points on the day.
Flores placed first in the high jump with a personal-best mark of 1.97m (6-05.50), fifth in the shot put with a mark of 10.82m (35-06.00), seventh in both the 400m dash (53.12) and long jump (personal-best 6.53m/21-05.25) and eighth in the 100m dash with a personal-best time of 11.58 for his 3,427 points.
Jones was third in the 200m dash with a time of 26.36, fourth in the high jump with a mark of 1.51m (4-11.50), sixth in the shot put with a personal-best mark of 9.49m (31-01.75) and seventh in the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.28 for her 2,574 points Friday.
The decathlon and heptathlon will conclude on Saturday, May 3, and the Mules & Jennies will continue competition in the MIAA Outdoor Championship both Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, in Emporia.
