WARRENSBURG, Mo. – Jacob Steele tallied his 200th career hit and
Jack Kreisman tossed six scoreless innings leading No. 3-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball to a 10-0, seven-inning, shutout win over the Northeastern State RiverHawks in game two of a three-game MIAA series Saturday, April 26, at Crane Stadium/Tompkins Field.
With the win, the Mules (35-9, 26-6 MIAA) secure a series win over the RiverHawks (13-33, 10-22 MIAA). UCM and Northeastern State are slated to play the series finale at 1 p.m. Sunday, April 27, in Warrensburg. Sunday is Senior Day, and Central Missouri will honor its 2025 senior class in a postgame ceremony.
A senior from St. Peter's, Mo., Steele posted his 200th hit at UCM on a lead-off double to left field, in the bottom of the first inning. He would score on
Chase Heath's RBI single to right-center, putting the Mules in front, 1-0, after one inning.
Central Missouri added four runs in the fourth inning after
Cole Kreisel stole home and Steele crushed his 10th home run of the season, a three-run homer to left field, ballooning the Mule advantage to 5-0.
UCM ended the game via the 10-run rule after scoring five runs on one hit in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Vance Tobol, Kreisel and
Will Krzykowski all worked bases loaded walks,
Grant Hollister was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, and
Kaleb Ceola smack an RBI single to right field for the five runs in the inning.
Steele went 2-for-3 with a double, homer, three runs and three RBI while Kreisel was 2-for-3 with a run and RBI, and
Dayvin Johnson had a triple and run, leading the Mules at the plate.
Kreisman (2-2) earned the victory on the mound after throwing six scoreless innings and giving up just two hits while tallying three strikeouts and zero walks on 84 pitches.
For the game, the Mules outhit the RiverHawks, 10-2.
