WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies (24-16, 11-9 MIAA) split a pair of games with No. 23 Pittsburg State Gorillas (33-11, 14-4 MIAA) winning game two by a final score of 5-3 Saturday, April 12, during Strike Out Cancer Day from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.

The Jens return to the diamond Wednesday, April 16, as they take on the Quincy Hawks (7-31, 3-17 GLVC) for a doubleheader with game one beginning at 2:00 p.m. from Mart Heinen Softball Complex in Quincy, Ill.

Game 1: No. 23 Pittsburg State 4, Central Missouri 0
The Gorillas plated a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings en route to their 33rd victory of the season as UCM's Brooke Weimer (9-8) suffered the loss in the circle while Bailey Brumley paced the Jens offensively going 2-for-3 in the ballgame.

Game 2: Central Missouri 5, No. 23 Pittsburg State 3
Central Missouri opened the scoring in the first inning thanks to an RBI single from Taylor Thompson that scored Jadyn Sheffield. With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the fourth, designated player Breanna Newton cleared the bases with her second homer on the year scoring Marisa Johnson, Aly Hageman, and Emma McCall.

The Gorillas plated three runs in the sixth but were unable to complete the comeback as Emily Brouse (8-3) picked up the victory in the circle allowing one run on four hits while four UCM batters ended the ballgame with a hit for good measure.
