Jennies Softball Splits Doubleheader at Northeastern State Friday

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. – The Central Missouri Jennies (18-12, 5-5 MIAA) split a pair of games with the Northeastern State RiverHawks (11-23, 5-9 MIAA) winning game one by a final score of 5-0, before falling 2-0 in game two Friday, March 28, from RiverHawks Park in Tahlequah, Okla.

The Jens continue MIAA play on Saturday, March 29, as they take on No. 8 Rogers State Hillcats (24-9, 8-6 MIAA) for a doubleheader with game one's first pitch slated for noon from the RCB Bank Sports Park in Claremore, Okla.

Game 1: Central Missouri 5, Northeastern State 0
The Jens opened the scoring in the top of the second scoring a pair of runs beginning with a solo shot off the bat of Marisa Johnson (her third of the season) before Emma McCall connected on an RBI single to center field that scored Aly Hageman.

Central Missouri added three runs in the fifth starting with a bases-loaded walk drawn by Jadyn Sheffield (scoring Carly Youngblood), followed by a fielder's choice that scored Brooke Wiemer before an RBI ground out off the bat of Taylor Thompson (scoring Lexi Blackmon) made it a 5-0 advantage.

Weimer (8-5) allowed just three hits while striking out a career-high 12 RiverHawk batters en route to her team leading 11th complete-game of the season as six Jens collected a hit in game one's victory for good measure.

Game 2: Northeastern State 2, Central Missouri 0
The RiverHawks plated both runs of the ballgame in the bottom of the third inning and never relinquished picking up their 11th win of the season as Andi Siebeneck (4-4) suffered the loss in the circle while Hageman paced the Jens offensively going 2-for-3 at the plate.
