MARYVILLE, Mo. – Third-ranked Central Missouri Mules baseball dropped a midweek MIAA game against the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats, 6-3, Tuesday afternoon, March 18, at Bearcat Field.
The Mules (17-5, 8-2 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Claremore, Okla., for a three-game MIAA series at Rogers State March 21-23.
UCM led 3-2 before the Bearcats scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to gain a 6-3 advantage. Northwest Missouri State (10-12, 4-6 MIAA) limited Central Missouri to just one hit the remainder of the contest to seal its first victory over the Mules since 2021.
Dayvin Johnson belted his fifth home run of the season, leading UCM at the plate in the game.
Reliever
Bryce Taylor (2-1) suffered the loss on the mound after allowing three earned runs on one hit with one walk in a third of an inning.
Brady Miles homered and drove in two runs to pace Northwest Missouri in the batter's box.
NWMSU starting pitcher Brock Steggall (3-1) picked up the win on the rubber, giving up three earned runs on six hits with seven strikeouts and one walk in seven innings while Leonardo May secured his first save of the season after tossing two scoreless and hitless innings with a walk.
