Jennies Softball Splits Doubleheader with Lincoln Tuesday

WARRENSBURG, Mo. – The Central Missouri Jennies (10-10, 1-3 MIAA) split their doubleheader with the Lincoln Blue Tigers (9-13, 0-4 GLVC) winning by a final score of 6-1 before falling 1-0 on Tuesday, March 11, during the 2025 Home Opener from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg, Mo.

The Jens return to the diamond on Thursday, March 13, as they host the Northern State Wolves (6-5, 0-0 NSIC) for a doubleheader with game one's first pitch slated for 2:00 p.m. from Jennies Field at the South Recreation Complex in Warrensburg.

Game 1: Central Missouri 6, Lincoln 1
The Jens opened the scoring in the bottom of the first with a two-out RBI double from Bailey Brumley before adding a run in the second thanks to aggressive base running from Aly Hageman making it 2-0.

In the third, the lead grew to three with an RBI groundout from Marisa Johnson before Central Missouri doubled the lead in the fourth. Beginning with a Carly Youngblood sacrifice fly (scoring Hageman), the Jens added a run thanks to a wild pitch and capped it off with a Jadyn Sheffield RBI single making it 6-0 UCM.

Brooke Weimer (4-5) earned the victory in the circle allowing just one hit while striking out nine batters in her team-leading seventh complete game of 2025 as four UCM batters recorded multi-hit performances including Lexi Blackmon, Sheffield, Hageman, and Weimer for good measure.

Game 2: Lincoln 1, Central Missouri 0
Lincoln scored the lone run of the ballgame in the top of the fourth and never relinquished as Andi Siebeneck (3-3) suffered the loss in the circle striking out four Lincoln batters in 3 1/3 innings while Blackmon, Brumley, and Hageman each recorded a hit pacing the Jens offensively.
