TOPEKA, Kan. – Central Missouri Jennies basketball fell to the Washburn Ichabods, 75-61, Saturday, Feb. 8, inside Lee Arena in a MIAA game.
The Jennies (13-11, 5-8 MIAA) are scheduled to travel to Tahlequah, Okla., for a conference contest at Northeastern State (10-12, 6-7 MIAA) Thursday, Feb. 13, at 5:30 p.m.
Taylor Weishaar netted 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from the floor and a 7-of-8 showing at the free-throw line and added a team-best three blocks while
Reese Schaaf compiled her team and MIAA-best 12th double-double of the season with 14 points and 12 rebounds, leading UCM in the game.
Central Missouri shot just 34 percent from the field (21-of-61) and were 4-of-12 from three-point range for 33 percent and 15-of-20 at the free-throw line for 75 percent.
Washburn (13-10, 7-6 MIAA) outrebounded UCM, 40-34, and outscored the Jennies in the paint, 36-30, and off turnovers, 16-11.
The Ichabods used a big third quarter to pull away from the Jennies, outscoring UCM in the stanza 29-11.
Payton Sterk had a game-high 28 points while Gabi Giovannetti added 18 points, pacing Washburn in the game.
