TOPEKA, Kan. – The Central Missouri Jennies (6-4, 0-0 MIAA) dropped a pair of games in the final day of the Washburn Invitational to the Minnesota State Mavericks (5-3, 0-0 NSIC) by a final score of 2-0 before falling to the Wayne State Wildcats (Neb. / 6-2, 0-0 NSIC) 3-2 on Monday, Feb. 24, from Silver Lake High School.  
 
The Jens return to the diamond on Friday, Feb. 28, as they take on the Augustana Vikings (S.D., 5-3, 0-0 NSIC) at 1:30 p.m. followed by a contest with the Rockhurst Hawks (0-4, 0-0 GLVC) at 4:00 p.m. in the opening day of the Top Gun College Classic from Mid-America Sports Complex in Shawnee, Kan.  
 
Game 1: Minnesota State 2, Central Missouri 0
The Mavericks plated a run in the third and another in the fifth as Central Missouri was held to just two hits in the ballgame which were collected by 
Aly Hageman and 
Emma McCall as sophomore 
Brooke Weimer (1-3) suffered the loss in the circle allowing just two hits while striking out six Maverick batters. 
 
Game 2: Wayne State (Neb.) 3, Central Missouri 2
The Wildcats opened the scoring with a single run in the third before doubling their advantage in the fourth. The Jens responded in the bottom of the inning with a run off the bat of 
Lexi Blackmon (scoring 
Carly Youngblood) before tying the game thanks to a bases-loaded RBI walk from 
Taylor Thompson. 
WSC would score the eventual game-winning run in the fifth as 
Emily Brouse (2-1) suffered the loss in the circle while 
Bailey Brumley, 
Morgan Shields, and Blackmon paced UCM offensively with one hit each.
